AltOption | LA is a creative escape on the western edge of the Mojave Desert, about an hour and a half outside of Los Angeles. Here, a community of artist entrepreneurs is building out a livable gallery and event space outside of the strictures of the city.
There are hundreds of acres of desert surrounding the property, so there's no need to whisper. However, we have to call out the small chance you could hear sound carrying from other areas. It should be infrequent and friendly, but just a heads-up!
In addition to the desert expanse, there is a nearby butte, The Sleeping Elephant, which you can scramble up for sweeping views.
And, lastly, the final stretch will take you off-road. We recommend 4WD and being mindful of scratching your car.
If you are not ready to camp just yet, but want to watch the project evolve, check out @_alt.option on Instagram.
Other than that, please just be respectful and keep it clean!

An obligatory, Mom-and-Dad postscript: this is a desert. Bring water and a hat for the days, and layers and gloves for the nights.
