We had such a wonderful weekend! I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. Greg was so kind and wonderful and the property was amazing. We had tons of land to explore and 2 ponds ! We saw turtles, ducks, deer, fish and tons of frogs. Greg had a little boat that my kids loved spending time on. The camp has tons of character and is simply beautiful. We will

30+ acres of secluded tree farm and two ponds all to our family of four! We were so spoiled! :) Beautiful campground. Loved waking up next to the pond every morning and seeing deer every day. You'll definitely want to bring fishing poles to catch n release smallmouth basses (and frogs)! Kids enjoyed fishing and catching tiny frogs and minnows every day. Plenty of games to play and shaded spots to relax. We also brought our laser tag guns for evening entertainment. Nothing like running around in the woods at night to play laser tag and we didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone! Moonlight walks around the property were lovely, too. Enjoyed this paradise so much that we extended our stay. Greg and Dewey are very nice and helpful. Gave us suggestions on nearby spots to explore. Loved all of our excursions!

1. Calaveras Big Trees State Park ~1hr drive
2. Local swimming spot near Tiger Creek whitewater take-out ~8min drive
3. Black Chasm Cavern (kids enjoyed cave tour and gem mining) ~ 25min drive
4. There's also gold mining tours near Jackson (~25min drive) that only operate on weekends. Didn't get to do it this time, but we'll be planning on it next time we visit Camp Treefeathers!

Other tips:
There's no wifi yet, but our Verizon and Xfinity hotspots work just fine-- perfect getaway for distance learning/remote working

FYI, we rented our trailer from Seth on RVShare (another awesome person to work with! Listing#1270897) He delivered the trailer, did the setup, and picked up the trailer on our last day. The trailer was fully loaded with everything we needed. Home away from home. It was really a glamping trip come true for us! :)

Book Camp Treefeathers! Although this is only our first Hipcamp experience I have yet to come across another campsite like this--gated property, acres of land, tall trees, fishing ponds all to one camping group-- in my search for the next family trip in the fall. Camp Treefeathers set the bar pretty high for us! :) We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you Greg and Dewey!!

Loved waking up by the pond every morningGreg built this playground for his grandkids in front of his house. So much fun! Just need to ask him before heading over to useNothing like running through the woods at night playing laser tag!Yep, she caught one! :) Definitely bring fishing poles and tools to catch n release smallmouth bass (and frogs)!

We had the best time here! It was our first camping trip with our 6 month old daughter and it was so much fun! The property is great, has 2 ponds and a huge covered fire pit. Totally private which we loved and had so many wonderful little touches (a sink with hot running water for one!). We can’t wait to go back.

The fire pit looking out over one of the ponds and the meadow behind.

Our group had a wonderful time at Camp Treefeathers. Greg was a wonderful host, he made us feel welcome and looked after without being intrusive.... the campsite itself was lovely. Lots of room to spread out, plenty of tables/chairs/places to chill, and a choir of bullfrogs in the pond to lull you to sleep at night. There is no light pollution, so stargazing was awesome. Greg also provided a bunch of outdoor games to keep us occupied. Everyone in my group asked me when we would be back... hopefully soon! Being surrounded by trees and fresh air did a lot of good for our souls. Thank you!

After the disappointment of having our annual trip with friends to Russian river cabins cancelled due to Covid, we were looking for an alternative. We had a pretty large crew - 5 families and 21 people. Camp Treefeathers looked like it fit the bill.

We had a couple of concerns: would there be enough space to social distance with such a large group, and whether there would be a swimming hole nearby. On both fronts we lucked out. On the first point there was no problem at all - plenty of room to spread out and actually you can camp as far back as you like beyond the meadow. Greg basically gives you the run of the farm. We set up lots of activities for the kids - Greg lets you run the sprinkler on the meadow which is great on hot days and we actually had a kiddie pool. Golf (make your own course), badminton, slack-lining - anything your imagination can think of you will have the space to do it.

As for swimming - Greg had told us about a swimming hole on the north fork of the Mokelumne a few miles away. We actually found a beautiful beach area just a little further down river from the bridge which we had to ourselves every day we went. It's a large enough lagoon area for my paddle board. Watch out for the poison oak - it's a bit of a hike down but worth it.

Greg and Dewey were awesome hosts - super friendly guys. They come around once each day to clear the trash but apart from that leave you to your own devices. We are used to car camping so having a kitchen with power was a bit of a luxury. 4 portaloos are plenty but we were glad the portaloo guy showed up to clean them mid-week. The town is an easy walk or bike ride and we were comfortable letting the older kids walk up there to get icecreams from the store. There is also a pizza shop in town.

The only real downside was a few mosquitos - but they were not as bad as you might fear. Everyone in our crew has agreed that we want to return to Camp Treefeather next year.

If you are looking for privacy and basic provisiones, this is the place! Dewey was very helpful when we got the trailer stuck in sand, and then gave us excellent advice on set-up. The dogs, wife, granddaughter and grandpa had a wonderful time. One suggestion: kill the photo-sensory light in the meadow--it takes away from the beautiful starscape.

Camping at camp treefeathers was a great way to have a very private camping trip and having a kitchen was so helpful! We were camping during a heatwave so having the small pond to keep the dogs cool was nice. The dogs loved being able to be off leash and chase frogs! We stayed cool playing in the sprinklers and on a slip and slide that was there. It was hot but we made it thru. We did venture down to the river at Tiger Creek take out about 8mins away to swim which is a pretty spot but finding the entrance and parking took some searching. We have AT&T and had no cell service so just a heads up to be prepared. It was kinda nice being disconnected for awhile. Thank you again to Greg and Dewie for our clean private camping trip! We hope to be back soon.
