PLEASE DO NOT STOP AT MY NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE.    Drive between blue building and his house STRAIGHT AHEAD 300 feet past his farm equipment.  Then you will be at our gate.

Welcome to our Old train Caboose Sleeper with mountainous views. This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities, Clearlake, Blue Lakes Highland Springs, Glen Eden hiking trail and the Mendocino National Forrest!

AND BE SURE TO CHECKOUT OUR CAMP SITES

About the Property:

Our property is a grassy field and the caboose is tucked away among beautiful trees and mountain views that peak out. The open sky is perfect for stargazing, and is one of our favorite things about this property. Bird watching is another fan favorite about our spot! There are horse trails and hiking from your campsite, which are two amazing ways to explore the outdoors here. There are lakes nearby as well, namely Clearlake, where kayaking and swimming can be enjoyed. We encourage you to check out our neighbor, just 2 miles up the road, aka, "Lodge at Blue Lakes," for boating rentals and daily beach access! We are close to Lakeport (15 minutes) - which has a drive-in theatre, Clearlake, Kelseyville and Ukiah (20 minutes). My personal favorite is Highland Springs Reservoir, an approximate 20 minute drive on country roads. Boating, swimming, hiking and BBQ available at Highland Springs as well. Another favorite is to hike to the Konocti Fire Tower.  Our property is quiet and off the beaten path, so you can really unplug and enjoy the serenity that nature has to offer. There is no wifi on the property and cell reception is not accessible either - this is a true off-grid experience.

We are Lesbian owned and managed; LBGTQ and all are welcome here! We are olive growers so you'll have the chance to see our wonderful olive trees on the property if you'd like! Please note that the olive trees hang over our driveway and may scrape the sides of wider vehicles upon entry and exit. We have 3 friendly dogs and will do our best to keep them away from campers so as not to intrude. There is also a rooster on the property and coyotes can be heard in the distance, so if you are a light sleeper, we suggest bringing some earplugs.

We will have a meet and greet upon camper arrival, and we are around to help with any plans or itineraries that you'd like help with! However, we also respect your space while you are here. We do have other sites, so you should expect to see other campers in passing and in the common areas. The sites are well spaced out, though, and do provide you with privacy.

About the Listing:

Join us for a trip to our old train caboose sleeper, that has been redone to become a dreamy, relaxing haven for you to visit. There is a new comfy bamboo queen-sized bed for two, a hot plate, and cold refrigerator for your use. We also provide an outdoor shower and clawfoot tub with hot water.  There is also a flush toilet for your comfort. There is a small outside wash sink and a little refrigerator to share with other campers staying at our campsite.    We just added a new propane BBQ.  We offer fresh eggs and in-season veggies for you and your company to enjoy. Our water is artesian so drink freely and bring bottles to take some magic home with you! There is also a picnic table for you to enjoy a nice bite to eat and a front 'porch' to sit on and enjoy your morning coffee.

Additional Details to Note:

Caboose has 2 burner electric hot plate,  microwave and two burner propane cooker outside on deck.    A campground shared BBQ is also available to all.

The caboose is so much fun! The kids loved climbing around in the front and enjoyed the bathtub all day! My husband and I loved taking an outdoor shower as well. Can't recommend enough!

This caboose is absolutely wonderful! Soft bed, surprisingly spacious, and the outdoor bath and shower is dreamy. Val is so kind, and the fridge was stacked with sodas and beer and fresh eggs in our arrival. Simple hot plate kitchen with utensils and pans worked well for us, but next time will bring food for that outdoor grill! We payed the daily to spend 2 full days at Blue Lake Lodge 2 miles away and though the beach is small and nothing else offered for that cost, the lake is really cool, refreshing, and lovely. A wonderful get away with my kid!

We absolutely loved the caboose and our stay in Lakeport. Our hosts were very welcoming, they gave wonderful recommendations, and kept us in the loop regarding other campers. Although it was the hottest weekend recorded we enjoyed the AC in the caboose, cold baths in the amazing tub, and all of the lakes. My expectations were blown out the water since we had everything we needed plus more in terms of accommodations. Plus, my puppy loved playing in the open space!

Our camping bunch enjoyed one campsite and the caboose, we had cold complimentary drinks and our host's fresh eggs in the morning. The stars were a wonder, and next time we would bring tennis shoes for the dry field . For activities , like basketball. The Caboose was clean, cute, and comfy.

Val was so wonderful and kind to me and my friend! I really liked how she had a little welcome sign for us:) it was so sweet and helped us find the property. We had a blast and she was very clear about all the amenities provided and kind to even provide them! We really enjoyed the area and there is a really cool hike where we could see the caboose from up above! Val also told us about other places we could go to and gave us directions! Our dogs loved the area and couldn't stop sniffing. By the end of the trip they all did not stop sleeping on our way home and slept all night when we got home! The area is great for dogs:)

Val's property really is a hidden gem! We loved the beautiful drive in through the canyon and sitting on the porch watching the sun set. The caboose was immaculate and had everything you would need for a weekend away. We were able to cook meals for four with ease. The air conditioner was a lifesaver and the outdoor bath to die for! Plenty of room for two small kids cots and the queen bed was comfy. The kids loved being able to run around the open area. Nearby lakes and raspberry picking were the perfect slow weekend activity. Val herself was incredibly warm and charming and made sure to check in with us while also giving us privacy. Her fresh eggs were a wonderful perk.
