Marcy and Sam are gracious hosts. They have put so much thought and heart into their lovely oasis. Their tiny house is in a great location and provides the perfect respite from the everyday busy life.
We will definitely come back — hopefully for a longer stay next time.
The most relaxing getaway!
To the most comfortable Tiny Cabin that was fully equipped (I'm talking robes for him&her when you use the outdoor shower, bath salts I used every night to relax in the tub, all the tools you would need to cook indoors or even grill outside + more), this was such a great getaway for us.
The directions were very clear. The property was beautiful. The hospitality was amazing. Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed the 5 days. Every night, they would prepare a fire for us that was easy to going. My favorite memory was eating dinner and making s'mores by the fire as the sun was setting.
If you're looking to disconnect or you can work from anywhere (wifi is great here), definitely visit! Thank you, Marcy & Sam.
Serene oasis for some r&r
The property was absolutely amazing, such a beautiful oasis in the Mendocino mountains. The proximity to the ocean is quite close so access to all types of activities is easy. I spent time hanging at the property and adventuring in town and absolutely loved being able to come back to the tiny house to rest and relax. The tiny house was nice and tidy and the amenities (bathtub, outdoor shower, fire pit, hammocks, cookware in the kitchen, etc.) were all so great. Thanks for an amazing experience, Marcy!
Amazing experience and stay!
Oh this was a beautiful stay. Our first time visiting in Mendocino and the cabin and surroundings were amazing. Some commenters say it really feels like a fairy tale and indeed it does. Marcy and Sam are fantastic hosts that were very kind throughout our stay. We couldn't think of a single thing we would change. The garden is flawlessly designed and we enjoyed a lot the fire at night.
Some practicalities: the whole house is fully equipped with all things one would need to cook (an induction stovetop, a sink, a microwave, etc.), brew coffee (a coffee machine with filters, a french press, and even a grinder if you don't have yours with you), stay warm, relax, and enjoy nature. Lots of blankets for inside and outside --so you will rarely be cold-- and lots of towels for the inside bath tub and the outdoors shower. I run hot at night so I didn't use any blanket to sleep, but my partner did. I think if you visit in winter it'll be colder, but I wouldn't say you need to be particularly prepared to combat the elements as they have everything you might need.
Thanks a lot Marcy and Sam for this fantastic experience!
Paradise under the trees
Sam and Marcy were such gracious and welcoming hosts. Their property was dreamy. We loved exploring the grounds and soaking in the beautiful nature that surrounded us there. The property is very close driving distance to multiple beaches and parks nearby including Van Damme as well as downtown Mendocino. The outdoor shower and soaking tub were a welcome accommodation after long days spent hiking and at the beach. The tiny house was comfortable and had everything we could have wanted. We would gladly come back and stay again!
Cabin under the stars!!!
We spent two amazing days at Marcy’s and didn’t want to leave! Sam and Marcy are awesome hosts, Sam set up the fire pit for us each night and we enjoyed wine under the stars, made s’mores. We even saw a couple shooting stars. The place is so cute and the attention to detail in the house and garden decor was really appreciated. I enjoyed the location, being close to everything but I enjoyed jogging along the country road because it’s away from all the traffic. We’ll definitely be back!!!
Loved this place! Marcy and Sam were excellent hosts. It served as the perfect getaway weekend. The landscape, the cute tiny home, the huge outdoor firepot, and the gorgeous nearby hiking trails were all a must!
Living in a fairy tale by the ocean
Staying here is like stepping into a fairy tale. The property is full of exquisite gardens full of charming touches (wood carvings, mosaics and fairy lights), and many different seating and relaxing areas. Sam and Marcy were warm and welcoming hosts. They were very attentive, but also made sure we had plenty of privacy. The home is one-of-a-kind, built by Sam and full of thoughtful touches. I can't wait to stay again. The property is only about 10 minutes from Mendocino and even closer to Van Damme State Park. So much to see and do in the area!
Marcy and Sam are such sweet and personable hosts - I enjoyed learning about their various hobbies/interests and they are most definitely renaissance life goals! They enjoy sharing stories and meeting folks on their travels, but also encourage guests to do whatever they wish - whether it’s exploring the the local sights or the property, or just cozying up indoors.
This tiny home is perfect for a retreat or remote work getaway. Marcy and Sam built and designed it themselves and it is wonderfully crafted and very thoughtfully laid out. There are plenty of creature comforts: a full bath with soaking tub, secluded outdoor shower, bunk bed and sofa bed options, WiFi, outlets galore, even an outdoor storage shed so any extra gear you have doesn’t clutter up the living space.
The property itself is stunning, with its towering redwoods and Marcy’s beautifully designed gardens dotted throughout. There are several spots that invite relaxation: the hammock in the redwood grove, a picnic table near a seasonal creek, the large patio and fire pit.
I will definitely be coming back - it was such a relaxing experience. I’m just hoping I can still make a reservation once the word gets out!
