What a nice hidden find!
The property itself is quite secluded. On the 40+ acres, there's only 11 sites which is great because it's not too crowded at all! There's one gravity flush toilet from what I could tell (some people forget to use the bucket of water to do the job) along with a potable water spout. Make sure to check the weather and dress accordingly for it. They offer an axe to chop wood -- bring some outdoor gloves to use it. And you may want to bring a small hatchet to chop some even smaller pieces after.
We stayed at campsite #6 and we loved it. We were also the 2nd closest to the toilet which made the middle-of-the-night-bathroom-run much more pleasant. I think if you want more privacy, sites #9-11 will offer that. There were a few cabins on the property but I didn't see them available for rent.
Saturday morning to Monday (Memorial Day) was our stay. On Sunday night we had two different sites nearest us playing music and having their own private party well after the 10pm curfew. We didn't mind but if you're a light sleeper, you might have to contact the owner.
This was our first hipcamp experience and we're glad it was! Hopefully your experience here will be pleasant as well. Christina did a great job as a host and was very kind.
I had a great stay at Christina's property! She was super accommodating. We were able to bring a small grill and she left a rake in the front to make sure all the ashes are out. The directions mention turning on "Y's" which I was a bit confused by since I usually know them as forks in the road, but other than that, the directions made total sense, leading us straight to the campsite where we were able to set up immediately.
We only stayed one night, but it was super private and we got to pick our own spot to set up camp. If you find the right spot, you can see a beautiful sunrise/sunset. During the night, the sky is completely dark and the stars really show.
The spot we set up at didn't have a picnic table so just keep that in mind.
Would definitely recommend this to fellow campers :)
Restroom is clean
Christina and her husband tim is really nice, they helped us with every way they can, from getting gas to helping us to start a fire, it was hard to find dry woods because of the rain and it was really cold thank you again guys i really recommend this place if you guys want the outdoor feels.
We loved our stay. We camped at site 9 and loved how spacious it was. The site included a fire pit, picnic table and plenty of trees which allowed us to set up our hammock. Christina’s property was absolutely beautiful!
Remote, quiet, peaceful, stargazing
This site was even more dreamy than we expected! There was fresh cut firewood (logs and small kindling for starting). We came for a meteor shower and saw multiple meteors. It was very quiet the whole time except the comforting sound of dogs barking from afar. We felt lucky to spot 2 deer in the woods! There were lots of trees, so plenty of space to set up a hammock. Most sites have a picnic table and a full fire pit! The fully functioning, flushable toilet was a real bonus. My only regret is not leaving enough time to play some frisbee golf on the course. We'll definitely be coming back!
Serene and beautiful...
Its a very serene and beautiful place. I had the pleasure of meeting both the owners and they were very nice and welcoming. We stayed on Site 5, which is the closest to the restroom. The restroom is extremely clean with a real toilet. Each site now as a firepit and picnic table. Firewood is provided and there is plenty of other wood to burn lying around. Beautiful views surround you. I loved it and would recommend it.
One of our favorite camping places! Right in the middle of the forest. We had a fairly private site and just loved it. There is a flushing toilet. There are trails around there. One trail takes you down to the river 2 miles one way. Very nice hosts
Amazing, highly recommend
Excellent place for camping! Our neighbors were all very friendly & respectful. The land is gorgeous with lots of trees. Our location, 7, had plentiful flat areas to pitch a tent and a really nice new picnic table. Amazing view of the stars at night. Easy enough to find our way back to the location after the initial entry, be sure to follow the host's written instructions.
Just a couple of small watch-outs:
- There are (to be expected) lots of mosquitoes at dusk. Bring bug spray or expect to hide in the tent for an hour around that time.
- No campfires during the dry season, absolutely no exceptions. But it was cool to see so many stars since we didn't have the light/smoke of a fire.
- Our location, 7, was awesome & private. But a few of the other sites look like they're pretty close to each other and the toilet. Recommend reaching out to the host for info on your site.
Christians property was amazing! Very well kept, and it was nice having an actual toilet in the out hose! :) We were only there one night, but would have loved to stay longer. Also, just an FYI not all sites have a table, and I messaged Christina and she was so nice as to leave a fold up table for us. We really loved it, so quiet and peaceful.
