Beautiful spot, great amenities!
Myself and my friends stayed here for my birthday weekend. Major thank you to the host for all their hospitality and assistance with accessibility. We had to arrive late due to work schedules and set up in the dark. Fortunately the site is easy to find, and very well set up. There is multiple camping pads, a kitchen area thats covered as well as a games area with a covered area. Its very close to town put comes stocked with fire wood and utensils. Thanks so much for everything, we would happily stay again.
No better place to pitch a tent, perfect location - really enjoyed the covered kitchen area and being so close to the beach. This site has some super nice details that every camper will enjoy . Thank you to the hosts for being so accomodating, will happily to visit again soon!
Cyle, Carson, Joanne and Josh are kind, welcoming, and very responsive hosts. We received a warm welcome with our two- and four-year-old in tow and our four-year-old told us on the third night that she did not want to leave. We enjoyed being the only campers at a private site and appreciated the care the family has put into making it a comfortable place to stay. The camp kitchen/dining area was an especially nice touch and the kids enjoyed the hammock and playing cornhole/bags. If we had not been so tired, we would have loved to sit on the adirondack chairs and enjoy a game of cribbage after the kids had gone to bed :) Blackberries were also in season when we visited and we enjoyed picking some on the property to eat with our breakfast. We saw a couple of deer and were sad that we did not have time to visit the old growth forest near the property before we left. A few things to note: there are some steep short inclines throughout the campsite that did not pose any issues for us but could be a consideration for some, including small children. The site boundaries are roped off and kids should be monitored at all times to make sure they are not going beyond them, as there are areas still under development with heavy brush and drops. We visited during peak season and the sound of traffic on the highway was quite constant until about 10pm... while it did not interfere with the kids' sleep or enjoyment of their surroundings, we are quite sensitive to it. This is of course no fault of the hosts or the site and more a function of the area being enjoyed by so many!
We had such a lovely welcome. The host even gave us jugs of water and the pictures do not do this site justice! There was a kitchen with water to use and a very clean portapotty! Def glamping and not just camping. Our only regret is we booked this as just a night to sleep but we should have allocated at least 2 nights here to enjoy the ammenities.
A fantastic getaway!
What an absolutely fantastic spot to get away! We came up for 2 nights and were blown away not only by the hospitality of Carson and Josh, but also by how incredibly accommodating the spot was! A full covered kitchen area, a clean outhouse, great flat spots to put tents, and even bins for recycling and compost! We would 100% return and definitely recommend this spot! It would be an ideal location for a large group camp trip!
Great place, perfect location
Me and two friends stayed at Cyle’s property for a night. We would all recommend it without hesitation! We were warmly welcomed, the property is quiet, beautiful, yet only a couple km from the main road. It was perfect for a bike trip since they had covered areas to eat and hang out, cooking dishes, a propane cooker, and nice cottage chairs. It was also close enough to town to make getting there by bike a non-issue. Happy travels!
We stayed two nights at this campsite and it exceeded our expectations! The host family was friendly and accommodating, and the site had everything we needed, including a dining room table and kitchen. The site is surrounded by forest and is private and secluded, and at the same time is only a 5 minute drive to stores, restaurants and beach access. We walked to the beach from the campsite and it was about 30 minutes, with an incline on the way back, but completely worth it. A clean outhouse is provided. We walked to Sunday Cider in only 10 minutes and could also get to Persephone Brewing in about a 10 minute drive. We will absolutely plan to stay again.
A hidden gem and the warmest hosts
Thank you so much Cyle, Carson, Josh, and family for hosting our group this weekend! This is such a special place on a really beautiful bit of land. Cyle and his family are the warmest hosts you could hope for, helpful, attentive, and very respectful of your boundaries and privacy. The campsite is cut into a really secluded area of forest with some amazing pitches and great communal facilities - we loved the countertop cooker and having various places to sit and hang out. It's a 5-minute drive from all the great things in Gibsons, but within 5 minutes walking distance you can get to The Shortcut (food/breakfast), Sunday Cider (craft cider), and Bonniebrook Beach, so there's no need to hop in the car if you don't want to. We are 100% coming back here, thanks so much again Cyle!
My roommates and I came to camp here and we had such a great time! Everyone at the property was super friendly and had great recommendations for things to do in the area. The camp itself was set up so thoughtfully and had everything we needed and more! It's a really beautiful spot, and so convenient to get to from the ferry. We hope to return sometime soon!
