We have 40 acres of poplar forest but only about 4 acres have been cleared. We have some grassy areas for tents and RVs. We are on a gravel road about 2km from the popular Coombs market (with goats on the roof!). There are lots of activities in the area including go-karts, hiking in provincial parks (Englishman River Falls Parks, Qualicum River Falls Park). Mt Arrowsmith is a challenging hike about 30 minutes drive away. Cathedral Grove is about 20 minutes away (and now open as of July 1). We are a young professional couple with 2 super-friendly Nigerian dwarf goats, some roosters and some ducks.  The number of animals may change at any time so ask us before booking if it's important to you. Wild rabbits run around the yard daily. Deer show up occasionally. As you can see in the photos, our yard is not a manicured park but we do try to take good care of it and we hope you will too.

It was such a nice break from the campgrounds. Slept well in the fresh air. I felt safe and welcomed. The goats do not disapoint. They have the bets personalities. The hosts were friendly and considering returning.

We had a great stay - the hosts were both lovely and welcoming. The goats/chickens/ducks are an added bonus too, lots of character! Just a fleeting visit but would recommend.

Jesse and Brandalyn were very jolly and accommodating. They got back to me right away about any requests. The farm is a cute hobby farm. The roosters are definitely loud in the morning (around 5 am), but they outlined that in the description. I was happy with the site. It was quite secluded and felt like i was in back country camping. The sites are a bit rough, so I would recommend bringing a blow up mattress for in the tent. It was a great over night stay for the price.

We had such a lovely experience staying at Goats and Boats. We had wonderful conversations with the hosts, a big private area to ourselves, and endless time playing with the goats and roosters. Added bonuses were; a clean bathroom, running water when needed, and wifi if needed. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a cool camping experience close to town!

It’s a quiet peaceful spot and lovely people. We tucked in nicely and settled well. Solitude and the sound of birds was perfect. The goats are fun!

Hosts were amazing and greeted us right away. Showed us around the farm. The camp site itself was on grass with my thorny plants but was fine once we found the right spot. But the grass was surprisingly a bit more comfortable than gravel. Great for kids who love to pet goats! And picking a few blueberries from their garden. Nice outhouse but is a but of a walk from campsite. Bonus to have wifi even though only available closer the the house. The hosts were kind enough to even lend us a table and basin for dishes.

The host Jesse was very nice and accommodating. The camping area was very quiet and we felt very safe leaving our truck and camper all day while we toured the area in our Jeep. We stayed there on a Thursday and Friday night and received $2 a night off because we booked on a weekday. I felt the price was too high, $36 a weekday night for unkempt camping areas.

Response from Jesse and Brandalyn, the Host, on August 5th, 2021

Hi Faye, Thank you for your review. We appreciate all of your feedback. We're sorry that you didn't feel that you got good value staying with us. We do acknowledge that our sites are still a bit rough. We have plans to improve them in the future. I think your review will give other campers a better idea of what to expect so they are less likely to be disappointed. We will look at our listing to see if we can make it more clear to campers what our sites are like. Thank you again for staying. We enjoyed meeting you and Darcy. God Bless! Jesse, Brandalyn and the goats
