All around the accommodation, take a breath of fresh air between a breathtaking view of the mountains and the hypnotizing sound of the stream flowing a few meters away. The more adventurous will even be able to discover during an enchanted getaway, the three waterfalls which are an integral part of the scenery, just a few hundred meters away, to enjoy a very refreshing swim.
Experience a unique way of life and take a digital break from simplicity, while reconnecting with nature. Consisting of a double bed, a wood-burning stove, a basic kitchen, and an ecological composting toilet, living in the woods may not be luxurious but has never been so pleasant and intoxicating.
You will be surrounded by nature so you might expect to meet some wildlife (deer, raccoon, bear, pine marten, mice ...)
A private driveway will lead you to the cabin after about 800m on a path accessible to all types of vehicles, in the middle of the woods. Follow the Sleepy Bear Hut sign from the road. The driveway is a bush trail accessible by all types of cars as long you are driving slowly
In winter, however, the path is narrow and cannot be cleared of snow, so you will have to park in the parking at the entrance to the path and walk to the cabin. In fall and spring, the trail can be muddy and not easy to manage.
There is no service and no wifiFirewood for the wood stove is provided but it is not split! The wood is only for the interior, please bring your own wood for the fires outside.Please keep food inside, even dog food, don't keep any bear attractant outdoor! Mice can find their way into the cabin, it's a log house in the middle of the woods!

We loved staying at Flore’s cabin!! The directions were clear and she was very diligent on responding to any questions we had. It was great to get out, be immersed in nature and disconnect for a few days!

Flore's beautiful, romantic, and private cabin set back in the woods beyond Golden, BC is the perfect place to enjoy with a loved one. You're not too far from town if you are planning some activities there but at the cabin you will feel like you have the world to yourself. Flore has included everything needed for your stay, the 'Sleepy Bear Cabin' manual is there to answer any questions you might have about the property. During our stay we had an abundance of firewood available next to the cabin, we enjoyed soaking in the views lounging in the hammock and cozying up by the fire with the crib board. There is a stream just behind the cabin that might be our pups new favorite place in the entire world. Just beyond the stream are some beautiful hiking trails leading to a waterfall and some dreamy valley views if you're interested in hiking a little farther. When night settled in the wood burning stove was there to keep us warm and the kitchen was equipped with everything we could need. Flore was very responsive and was happy to answer any questions leading up to our stay, the self check-in makes arrival an absolute breeze and from the minute we arrived we felt worry free.
I highly recommend staying at this cabin, it's truly the perfect getaway and we are already looking forward to visiting again.
Beautiful spot. Exactly what we were looking for. The only downside was the bed & fitted sheet, which could have been more comfortable, but overall it was perfect.
It was amazing, so remote yet had everything we needed for the night. Very organized and equipped with things to cook with. Such an amazing surroundings, waterfalls and creeks behind as well as a Mountain View to the side. All in all it was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend this cabin.
