This amazing 50 acre farm is on the State and National Historic Register. Once part of the Milton Bodine land tract, this property has been privately owned for 4 generations. Come explore all Riverside Farm has to offer. **BEST IN NEW YORK 2022 and 2023** Voted Hipcamp #1 place to visit for 2022 *Riverside Farm was granted one of the States first Conditional Adult Use Cannabis Cultivation Licenses and has since formed FlowerHouse NY. The cultivation of New York's first licensed cannabis crops and products are happening offsite, at another location. However Riverside Farm is still an active and working Farm* Follow along @FlowerHouse_ny and @Waldenriversidefarminc This picturesque family farm is conveniently located just 80 miles from both Manhattan and Albany. Riverside Farm offers 1600 feet of direct river access, ponds, rolling meadows and woodlands. You’ll have 50 acres of freedom to enjoy at your leisure. The Bashakill Preserve is home to some of the best bird watching in the Northeast and is 5 miles away. The walkway over the Hudson and fine dining options at Newburgh's waterfront are also within a short 20 minute drive. The Shawangunk, Wallkill and Hudson Valley rail trails are easily accessible for those wanting to bike or jog. This listing is for "Site 5" which sits apart from our other campsites. The site is for tents or RVs. It is spacious and private. You have a 12x16 wooden platform to use for your own tent or to relax in two Adirondack chairs. The site has a 2 picnic table to comfortably seat 8 people. This site does not have porta-potty access. You will have a personal camping-style toilet which uses "potty bags" (provided) inside a pop-up privacy tent. You are responsible for bringing up toilet waste and other garbage to the dumpster. Loved this quiet spot along the river! The campsite was clean, peaceful and perfect for our stopover on the way to VT. Wishes we could have stayed a couple days and enjoyed a bit more! Definitely would come back in the warmer season and enjoy the water and nearby attractions.

Wonderful stay at site 2. The land is beautifully groomed, the view of the hill on one side and the stream on the other was perfect. There’s a brewery nearby too if you want to go for a day trip, very fun. Looking forward to coming back. The sites are nicely distanced. Thanks again

Historic Riverside Farm Site 1 - 2
I will come back again and again. This was the most relaxing trip I’ve had. There are not many sites to offer private and peaceful camping. We were able to watch blue herons, egrets and geese fly in, in the morning and land on the river. We were able to enjoy yoga and meditation right by the river. We had two partridges hang out at our site for two days that just wandered around and were of no nuisance. Sitting in the swing at the top of the hill we had deer wandering around us. Despite getting there after dark, the instructions to get to our site were easy and after settling in, the owner came down and greeted us with our eggs. Everything is well taken care of. We feel like we’ve found a hidden gem.

Site #3 A beautiful, secluded spot on a river! Lots of space to spread out. No one else around which is why I liked it. Sound of the river, stars at night, birds, a perfect campfire ring…. And I had a wonderful time.

We had a tragic family emergency and had to cancel a few days before our trip to visit. So we did not get to visit yet but I so appreciated Sam and Melissa’s kindness and understanding I wanted to praise them as hosts. Hope to visit in the future.

Historic Riverside Farm Site 1 - 2
We loved the campsite. It was at the edge of a very nice meadow right next to a beautiful stretch of the river. Other campsites were spaced apart nicely for privacy and the port o potty was clean. We got in late our first night and we were able to do some star gazing. I managed to catch a small fish in the river the next day. Unfortunately, when we arrived the firewood we purchased was not there. When we messaged Melissa saying our firewood was not there, we got the impression that she didn't believe us. She asked around the other campsites to see if anyone took the wood and told us that no one took it. Whatever the case, we had no wood at our site. She did eventually bring us the firewood after some confusing back-and-forth. This put a damper on an otherwise great trip.

Site 5 was perfect - super spacious and secluded, with easy access to the river. Sam and Melissa were quick to respond to any questions we had. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Our family and our friends (4 adults, 3 young kids, 1 small dog) absolutely loved camping on Sam and Melissa's land! Great camp spot right next to the river with plenty of space for everyone to run around!

I loved camping at this site! It was private and serene, being right on the river was fantastic. Melissa was a great host and brought us additional firewood several times throughout the trip. Our toddler aged son loved walking around the paths and looking at plants and bugs. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Historic Riverside Farm - Site 5
The space is very well maintained and is beautiful. The space is clearly marked and directions are accurate. We stayed at site 5, a short walk to the river (less than a minute from the site down a gentle slope). For end of summer, it was perfect and open. For hotter months, this is just something to consider (see below regarding other sites). The tent platform had tie off points and there is a food prep area, a picnic table and a folded grill grate for cooking. We roamed the vast space and saw sites 1, 2, and 3, which are all closer to the water and also look like excellent spots with shade for summer, also well maintained. There's a bench swing at the top of the hill overlooking 1, 2, and 3 and a bench on another hill. I feel like the hosts must have done Hipcamp before and decided they were going to make their place exceptional for their guests, which they definitely did for us. Road noise was minimal and distant. Geese, ducks and heron on the river, as well as deer.

The site was open, yet tucked in along the field and river, making it quaint and quiet. River access was easy and close. We enjoyed chilling along the bank in our chairs. Definitely would recommend. Easy check-in, access, and a lovely setting.

I camped here on my first ever bikepacking trip and it was perfect! The campsite was easy to find and close to a few Metro North stations. Also very close to Angry Orchard if you are looking for somewhere unique to eat. The views of the river were beautiful.

Such an amazing camp site! So well maintained and being right on the river is incredible. The water wasn’t deep enough to swim but we waded in and fished and had a great time. The platform and hand pump well were very convenient as well.

We stayed on site 2 with two toddlers and a dog and it was wonderful! With a swing and direct access to the river it was perfect. It felt very secluded and the other sites were far enough away that it felt very private. The hosts were great and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Lovely farm. All sites on the water, nice. Site 2 a dirty, and guessing when it rains muddy site. Being the only guest the evening I stayed made the stay heavenly. A bit pricey though.

My group and I enjoyed our stay at site 5, It definitely feels very secluded and has alot of room. There are alot of amenities nearby and we also enjoyed out visit to angry orchard. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone

Historic Riverside Farm- Site 3
I was driving from Maryland to Maine and wanted to stay off the I-95 corridor and split the drive up into two days. This was a perfect place to do that. I had a very quiet night by the river and got to spend it with all kinds of birds and a few deer. I walked to the other sites too and they all seemed very nice. I didn’t spend much time with in the area but stopped at Drowned Lands Brewing on the way and I highly recommend that too. Would definitely stay again.

Unbelievably serene and perfect camping spot, will be going again as soon as we possibly can. Hosts were super helpful and the fresh eggs were delicious. Wish we could have stayed for 10x as long. Porta potty was super clean as well. 10/10 will certainly visit again
