Even though I arrived just before sunset, the hosts welcomed me at their gate and gave me and my dog plenty of water, as I guess we looked pretty haggard and thirsty. The star-gazing was terrific and the night was safe and peaceful. A special place.

Really enjoyed my stay here! Very quiet and felt secluded (although safely tucked away on the owners property). I loved sitting around the camp watching the birds and other wildlife. Jeanie was really responsive and provided great instructions. I would definitely recommend it!

Directions are perfect. Look for the Star Gazer Signs. Quaint hipcamp with a beautifully appointed pavillion with tables, wind break and bbq. The hosts are friendly and greeted me when I arrived. Their dog is adorable. Will stay here again

What an ideal camping spot… quiet, secluded and close to the hwy!!! And the hosts were wonderful, had some time to talk with Brian and get acquainted. I would highly recommend this spot if you ever find yourself near Albuquerque!

This was a great site! Beautiful views and very private. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe staying here. There was a nice tent platform with plenty of extra room for my camp chair and table. It was also a nice place to lay out my yoga mat and do some stretching in the sun after a long day of driving!

The camp spot was very nice, but we were in a 38’ class A with toad and getting to the spot was very tight. We did make it though. So for smaller rigs and tents it would be great

This location is quiet, out of the way and provides nice views of the Sandias and the local mesas. Basic boondocking accommodations, but also has a nice covered area with a large swing. Easy to find with Jeanie's instructions.

This site was absolutely awesome as an overnight stay just off of I-40. And there's no safer place that you can be than inside a gate and camped on the opposite side of the host's home. It was a quiet, peaceful, and starry night to relax and rest.

Absolutely amazing! Stunning scenery, hospitality, and accommodations.
Owners were wonderful! We were coming late and they helped us find our location via text and directions. Offered to take care of some garbage so we didn’t have to drive with it. They also have the sweetest little dog ever! Came up said hi and went back to what he was doing super interesting.
The site itself was gorgeous. We were able to star gaze and point out consolations very easily.
Overall a wonderful stay. Be prepared! It gets cold at night and hot during the summer.

Second time camping here and it was great. Very quiet and relaxed. Hosts were very friendly. Definitely a good place to spend the night or maybe even a few days just outside Albuquerque. This has been a good spot for us to spend the night on our way up to Utah on 2 separate trips.

My bad for not reading the complete message. Before following the directions
A sign on gate. Saying please close gate. Or stating the gate looks locked. I think all hosts might want to post a Hipcamp insignia
Let campers know there is no turn around from the paved road turnoff.
Was difficult to back up single axil trailer, in the dark, even with a full moon.
I was confused by two names in my email boondocker and stat gazing ranch

Amazing. Super quaint remote location. The hosts were helpful but not at all up in our business even though this camping spot is situated within 50 yards of the house. Beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and we had the benefit of a super clear night where we could see the an epic number of stars.
The little pavilion with a picnic table and a grill was super helpful, and a really nice touch. It had recently rained so we were able to have a bonfire and our host even provided us wood. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Jennie's place is the real desert feel! The campsite is close to the house but you can find privacy and feel in the middle of nowhere. No star gazing for us as it was raining, bit it did not spoil the feeling!

This place was a perfect last minute find on my way back to Colorado when Joe Skeen was totally full. Jeanie and Brian are very kind and came out to flag me down when I missed the turn. As a solo woman I felt very safe here and slept great. The views are beautiful and the sunset is delightful! My favorite part was the huge wood deck which I was able to pull up right next to and use as my front porch. Very grateful for the safe and lovely stay.
Note: the pavilion shown in pictures is not available for campers. Definitely only an option for fully self sustained rigs. Do not stay here if you don’t have a bathroom set up. And with no water, no trash and no bathroom, $39 (which is what it is after all the taxes and fees) felt a little high since you can find sites that provide all those and showers for the same price. Still I’d recommend it, private, quiet and it was perfect in a pinch.

Great desert campsite! It’s conveniently close to I-40 if you’re traveling in either direction, but still far enough out that you aren’t bothered by any highway noise. Beautiful sunsets and night sky. The hosts were very welcoming, and so was their pup! Recommend for self-contained campers.

I had a wonderful stay at Jeanie and her husband’s place! The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect retreat. I was there to teach my shy dog the joys of camping, and the setting was ideal for our little adventure.
Jeanie warmly greeted me upon arrival, which made me feel right at home. I loved having the entire space to myself, allowing for a truly private experience. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the sky was a breathtaking sight, adding to the overall beauty of the location.

I can’t recommend this place. Here’s why.
The owner was no help and it seemed like I was bothering her for just being there. Almost rude.
When I asked if I had to park next to the house (the spot is very close to the house) she finally got back to me with, “There’s plenty of room back there”.
Okay, where? How much? There’s a ton of property.
Where’s the boundary? How far back can I go?
I had no idea. Then she has “no fires, there’s a fire restriction”. I Googled it. There was no fire ban, period. I could see that no one was allowed to have a fire there for a very long time. Actually, Hipcamp will tell you if there is a fire ban. I just wanted to get out of there. There’s stars. But they are everywhere around here. Nothing was special and the rudeness was too much.

Jeanie and her husband were awesome hosts and their space is perfect for astronomy. I took my RV and 11" telescope for a night of skywatching and it was perfect. Very dark and quiet at night. Thanks Jeanie !
