Perfect quiet corner get away
Loved our stay here! Tara was a great host; quick & clear communication! She toured us to see the piglets in the barn, and we bought some bacon, jam, and pork loin from the store. It was easy to park and we had a view of the fields and pond. Beautiful stay, we would love to come back someday 😁

Perfect quiet corner get away
We lived the peacefulnees of this location. No loud neighbors to deal with! Other than another neighbor coon hunting at night but that didn't last too long. It rained on the wood we were collecting but Tara was able to get us dry wood to start our fire. Great family and a nice visit to their pig farm before we left!

I loved tent camping here! Tara welcomed us as soon as we pulled in to make sure we had firewood and everything we needed.
It was peaceful waking up to all of the birds in the morning and a pretty country view! Being more in a clearing verses in a forest was actually really nice. I was worried about it not being private enough, but it definitely was & there were way less bugs than if we were all the way in the trees. Would go back!

Tara is an excellent host! Would recommend this place to all, especially stargazers. We got to see the end of the 2022 Lyrids Meteor Shower and it was some of the best shooting stars I've ever seen! Do be careful not to back too far down the hill if the grass is wet (or will become wet) though. While pulling in, your best bet is to turn sharply after the gate so that your vehicle is parallel with the fence and nosed up to the picnic table.

Tara’s farm was the perfect, quiet place to spend the night in the Iowa countryside. I would highly recommend this campsite!

Great place, right on a farm next to a pond with cows around. Great firepit, was just what we needed. Tara was wonderful and very welcoming!

Perfect quiet corner get away
Tara and Brett were amazing hosts! The quiet yet large field provided for the campsite was perfect, especially allowing us to close the main gate to let the two dogs run. What a fun and pleasant experience. 5 stars for sure. Brett went out of his way to make our 4 year old feel extra welcome giving us a tour of the family farm and telling stories about each animal. I cannot say enough good things. We will definitely be back!

We were looking for a place close to the Hinterland music festival and Tara’s farm was just 10 minutes away. We had a little trouble finding the field on their farm but when I called Tara she walked me through step by step til we got situated. It was a really lovely spot! Then in the morning Tara stopped by to check on us and when we wandered up their farm, her girls gave my son and I a sweet and thorough tour of their pig farm. It was such a wonderful view into their passion and life on the farm! Thanks for hosting us!

Great camp space with beautiful trees and a pretty sunset! Tara is super kind, and the farm is lovely. We got a tiny bit confused on the directions because they are written coming from the north, but we figured it out. Excellent jalapeño cheddar brats! Loved our stay and highly recommend.

What a beautiful spot! We were the only ones in a gorgeous field. It was exactly what we were looking for. In the morning, the host family gave us a tour of their pigs and horses. They were very hospitable. We would definitely recommend this spot and will come again if our travels take us back this way.

I highly recommend this location! Host Tara was super responsive leading up to my stay, and welcomed me with open arms - literally, because I was crying (happy tears!) and she offered me a hug. Their place is easy to find and conveniently located if you want to do a little Madison County exploration. Nearby Winterset is super cute, and the covered bridges are as charming as you’d hope. Or if you just want to hang out at the campsite, it’s got everything you need to be able to relax and do whatever! I loved going to sleep hearing the frogs at the nearby stream and waking up to a number of different birds’ songs. I will certainly go back to this spot in the future. :)
