Lucky island provides agreat landing place for the weary traveler.  It is within Fayetteville city limits with great proximity to so many outdoor and cultural activities. We sit on a remmant oak savanah that fronts a busy road which also incorporates Fayetteville's amazing bike trail ( the trail is still under construction).

This is a urban hobby farm with chickens (no rooster!) and garden, deciduous trees and pines.

Camp Sites: While there are campsites to choose from there will be only one camping party allowed at a time. So the bathroom and porch will be private. One site is at the top of the driveway and is paved and is not suitable for tent camping. It faces the road and is less private. The 2nd site sits on grass, with more privacy but further from BR and electricity.  And Site 2 which is not officially listed because wet weather can make it unsuitable for heavy vehicles.

Campers  will have access to a bathroom with a  toilet and quirky on-demand- hot water- heater .  Bathroom is heated and has toilet and sink and ability to take very BRIEF shower sitting down. Wierd, yes,  but works with the limitations of hot water on demand and set-up. Towels and toiletries provided. Inside, adjacent to bathroom,  is a kitchen station with electric kettle, coffee maker and microwave.  Coffee , tea,  muffins and fruit provided.

There is also a covered porch available for cooking with a coleman stove provided. Water is available in the bathroom.

The covered porch sits in the middle of the property at the opposite end of the same building where the bathrooom is. Between the bathroom and the porch are rooms not available to campers.  A fire ring can be used on the porch with owners instructions, our wood ( for a small fee) and permission only. A coleman stove is also on the porch for your use.

Since this is suburban camping, stars can be seen but it is not totally dark due to the development that has occured around us.

I have lived here 34 years when this WAS country.

NOW, Lucky Island still has a country feel except for the road sounds and the neighbors' ambient lights.

Lucky Island is 2.1 driving miles and 3.6 biking miles to Centennial Park at Milsap Mountain, a new cyclo cross and mountain bike park. Kessler Mountain Park which has hiking and biking trails is 6.7 biking miles and 6 driving miles. Lake Wedington which also has biking and hiking trails is 17 driving miles( dont recommend biking to Wedington from here and biking to other parks involves some traffic).

Hosts live on the property in the original farmhouse and if not home will be close by. Hosts will be out on the property, tending the 8 chickens( no rooster!) and garden during the day. This means we might walk by the porch or your camp area. Efforts to ensure privacy will be made. Only one camper group allowed at a time .

Barring any emergencies we won't be outside before 8 a.m. We are new to hosting and look forward to sharing Lucky Island with other campers. We traveled for 7 years with a Little Guy trailer and often wished for just what we are offering.

COVID: We are covid conscious and vaccinated. We will keep six feet from you outside . While we say meet and greet we can also arrange for contactless check-in if we communicate first by phone. Bathroom, coffee/ microwave station,  and porch will be sanitized.

PRECAUTIONS:

This is the Ozarks so beware of the potential for insects including, ticks, chiggers and mosquitoes.  Please do not walk through the carport as it can be slick at times. At night please use your flashlight. Take great care when turning into Lucky Island from the road or when leaving. It is a busy road so use your signals.

A rural setting in the city limits but with the sounds of the country. I enjoyed water bubbling in the koi pond and the chicken’s soft clucking, however there are also city sounds. Delightful hosts are responsive and accommodating. It was perfect for our needs.

Ginny is welcoming and flexible — really appreciate the amenities like the bathroom with a shower tub. Everything felt comfortable, safe, and relaxing here. The land is quiet and dark at night and we slept great! 100% recommend this location. Best Hipcamp experience my family has had around the country!

Ginny and her space our absolutely amazing. I’ve stayed in dozens of Airbnbs and a couple of Hipcamps and have never had a more gracious host. Count yourself lucky if you’re fortunate enough to book a space at “Lucky Island”. Close to the interstate but quiet. Close to town, but far enough away to feel like you’re camping.

I stayed in my truck on Ginny's property and I highly recommend it! It was about 20 degrees overnight and it was very nice to have a warm, well lit bathroom close by in the morning. Ginny met me upon my arrival and showed me the land. The listing is accurate and Ginny was beyond hospitable. If I'm ever in Arkansas again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay on her property!
