A Safe Haven for Women Van Dwellers

It isn’t often that we can find a magical place to lay down our heads and go to sleep. A safe place, where your dreams are in nature and the stars create a comforting blanket.

Welcome to WanderLand - a safe haven where you can hear the coyotes singing up close to your van, experience incredible desert skies, and spend time with yourself in the company of people who “get it.”

Designed for self-identified women wanderers, we invite you to enjoy the ethereal scenic beauty and the peace and quiet that we all crave.

We are set back from civilization, but close to necessities like shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, the post office, and gas stations - all just ten minutes away.

At WanderLand, we’ve set aside two sites, suitable for self-contained vans and small RVs, where you’ll have your privacy and your own space. Please understand we cannot accommodate tents. Amenities available include a soothing hot shower, flushing toilet, and drinking water. And as with all BLM and public parks, we maintain a low/zero waste “Pack In, Pack Out” practice of “Leave No Trace.” There are no trash bins at the sites or on the wildlife preserve.

If you bring a small pet, remember we call them “coyote food.” Please keep them with you on a leash no longer than 6 feet, for their own safety. Pet waste is also pack in pack out..this is rugged, prickly, thorny terrain for pets - plan accordingly.

Perfectly situated for desert explorers, WanderLand is close to:

Saguaro National Park West (25 min.) Catalina State Park (15 min.) Downtown Tucson (30 min.) Biosphere 2 (30 min.) Sabino Canyon (35 min.) Honeybee Canyon (10 min.) Wild Burro Trail (15 min.) Tortolita Preserve (10min.) Tohono Chul Park (17 min.) Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (45 min.)

If you love to hike, you’ll find a wide variety of trails nearby that take you from the canyon to the mountaintop with creeks and wading pools in between. Want to just relax on the property? You’ll enjoy unmatched sunsets, sunrises, and stargazing that only the Sonoran desert can provide.

Wildlife sightings are common, including mule deer, javelina, bobcats, coyotes, jackrabbits, cottontail bunnies, ground squirrels, hawks, owls, quail, roadrunners, lizards, and other desert creatures.

Book today for your dream night in the desert - a safe place for wanderers and adventurers.
