It seems like nearly everyone who comes here says this is a very peaceful place! It's like being out in the country whilst still being close enough to so many things, about halfway between Sedona and Prescott, in a neighborhood with dirt roads and farm animals, in which horses have the right away. The mountains are hypnotic. The air is clean. The stars are breathtaking. You can see the Milky Way on a clear night. The sunsets and sunrises are gorgeous.
There's a picnic table, charcoal grill and fire pit at your campsite or you can tent further into the trees if you prefer. There’s also a walking path, medicine wheel and labyrinth. Wifi and water are available as needed. Water comes out of a hose by the house I’ll need to assist you with that but I also leave out a 3 gallon jug of potable water by the potty shed for your usage. Wifi is decent, spotty on windy days but stronger as you move towards the house. I can run an electrical cord to your campsite for an additional $5 per night (just add on when you book your reservation). No fancy toilet, but there is a camping style one set up in a shed for your convenience along with a hand washing station.
We're animal friendly. My dog Marley is very sociable with dogs and kids alike. I’m happy to watch your doggie while you go on an adventure as long as it’s friendly too. There’s lots of birds, like cardinals, hawks, owls, blue jays, roadrunners and hummingbirds. Jackrabbits and coyotes too. Your host is a trained yoga/meditation teacher, so if you're into that sort of thing or just curious to learn, you can corral her into booking a session outside on nice day or set you up with a local for a private tour of Sedona or the Grand Canyon. Oh the possibilities!
The location is central to so many incredible places to explore. There's also a local farm down the road for fresh eats, pick your own food if you want, a bakery with fudge (woohoo!) and fun activities for the whole family.
Here's some of the sight seeing possibilities just to get your mind percolating:
Grand Canyon (2.5 hours)Devil’s Bridge (Sedona) Cathedral rock (Sedona) Bell Rock (Sedona) Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona) Bumblebee Giant Saguaros (North Phoenix) Watson’s Lake (Prescott) Granite Dels (Prescott) Ghost Town Tour (Jerome) Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff) Wupatki National Monument (Flagstaff) Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument (Flagstaff) Arizona Snowbowl (Flagstaff) Antelope Canyon (Page) Lake Powell (Page) Horseshoe Bend (Page) Petrified Forest National Park (2.75 hours) Meteor Crater National Landmark (2 hours) Walnut Canyon National Monument (Flagstaff) Montezuma Castle National Monument and Well (Camp Verde) Out of Africa Wildlife Park (Camp Verde) Desert Botanical Gardens (Phoenix) Wine Tasting (Page Springs)

Great site and great host, really enjoyed my stopover. My dog LOVED being able to run around and sniff everything off-leash. Wifi is good enough for email, but not video calls. 1 bar of AT&T if you stand in the right spot. Neighbors have some dogs that get very barky in the evenings but it's super quiet during the day.
Professional camper and traveler
This camping resort is location is around National Monuments, Forests and Wilderness areas. If you want to explore some of Arizona’s greenest areas and mountain chains then this is a perfect base camp. This land owner doesn’t start out with a list of 50 rules, rather expects common sense, responsibility and trust to rule behavior. I felt like I could leave my doors unlocked. I never once experienced any type of disturbance. Sleep comes easy without any worries.
Camping under the arizona stars
Melody was a lovely host and the site was beautiful! Secluded area to set up the tent and a stone labyrinth if you feel like a little walking meditation. Will definitely return should we head this way again.
