It's my pleasure to host RVer's at my home in a country community located about halfway between Prescott and Sedona. It's a great launching pad for visiting many things in the area.

Parking is on my gravel driveway in front of my house on my 2 acre lot. The Mountain view is on the backside. You'll have access to a 30 amp electrical hook up (I have a 25 foot extension cord), Wifi, and a dog run. There's also a medicine wheel and labyrinth for your enjoyment.

There's a place in town that has free water & dumping I can refer you to if you like. Water is a commodity since I'm on hauled water, but if you want to fill your tank while you are here, I have a long hose and just ask $10 cash per fill.

It's 1.5 mile on a dirt road coming in. The road isn't great but it's not terrible either. It gets graded about once a quarter and the quality depends on the weather we've had in between grading.

My lot has plenty of space to accommodate the large Class A RVs, but turning into the 40ft wide driveway from a one lane road can be tight, so I'd recommend if you're longer than 30 feet and have a tow vehicle, that you disconnect your tow vehicle at the entrance of the dirt road and drive in separately.

Some of the animals I've seen on the property include jackrabbits, Arizona cottontails, mule deer, coyote, javelina, and tons of birds like quail, cardinals, hawks, owls, blue jays, roadrunners and hummingbirds.

Mortimer Farm is 6 miles down the road and offers a deli/bakery, seasonal activities like a pumpkin patch, strawberry fest, veggie picking etc.

Some other sites include:

Quail wood Golf Course (10 miles) Lynx Lake (30 mins) Grand Canyon (2.5 hours) Devil’s Bridge (Sedona 1 hour) Cathedral rock (Sedona) Bell Rock (Sedona 45 mins) Oak Creek Canyon (Sedona) Bumblebee Giant Saguaros (North Phoenix) Watson’s Lake (Prescott) Granite Dels (Prescott) Ghost Town Tour (Jerome) Lowell Observatory (Flagstaff) Wupatki National Monument (Flagstaff) Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument (Flagstaff) Arizona Snowbowl (Flagstaff) Antelope Canyon (Page) Lake Powell (Page) Horseshoe Bend (Page) Petrified Forest National Park (2.75 hours) Meteor Crater National Landmark (2 hours) Walnut Canyon National Monument (Flagstaff) Montezuma Castle National Monument and Well (Camp Verde) Out of Africa Wildlife Park (Camp Verde) Desert Botanical Gardens (Phoenix) Wine Tasting (Page Springs)

We were greeted by Melody and her dog Marley, both very friendly. The RV spot is quite nice, although it took some work to turn around our 23 foot trailer. Electrical hookup and wifi worked great. It's a good home base for exploring the Prescott Valley area. HIghly recommend.

Great host. Melody was so kind, and her property is very sweet. It was great having access to wifi as I needed to work, it worked well. I loved visiting the local area, driving to Jerome was stunning and Page Spring Cellars was a great spot for wine and lunch.

I joined Hipcamp after not finding an open public site for the spring break camping trip I was planning with my son. Melody's secluded location having WiFi and electricity made Sun and Moon a top pick. Booking was a breeze, and our host confirmed promptly.

The cushioned patio chairs were an unexpected and welcome plus when we arrived. My friends first thought I had brought them out with me (they've sat in my patio, so you'd think they would have known better...).

My son and I arrived just as the fire ban was placed due to wildfires that erupted earlier that day. While this meant less quality time at the camp, it also allowed us to spend more time exploring and ending the day trying out the dining options on Rt 66.

The best moment at camp happened on Tuesday night just as I was zipping into my sleeping bag. I turned to my son when he gasped and the light of a meteor lit up his face. I was able to gaze up just in time to see the white fireball for a half second before it winked out. Who needs a campfire with a lightshow like that going on?

Sun and Moon is just outside Prescott. From here, we were able to hit Sedona, Painted Desert, Meteor Crater, and finally, the Grand Canyon, in the span of 4 days. Fishing the local waters and cooking your catch (conditions permitting) would make for a great weekend here.

Melody was so wonderful! She was welcoming and we felt like we had a little piece of home. We camped 3 nights and the stars were exquisite. It’s so peaceful there. I especially enjoyed the labyrinth and the aura of calm. Our dog Quinn got along well with Marly. We asked Melidy to watch Quinn for the day and it worked out well. Yes, the road is a bit of a trial but it’s well worth it to be in the quiet of the countryside.

Melody provided a safe, quiet leveled space for our van road trip and the electric cord, fire pit, and chairs were ready when we arrived late.

The roads to the house was a bit rough but manageable, even in the dark.

Melody was communicative and always responded quickly and clearly.
