Great location and views. Jeff greeted us on our arrival and was super friendly.

We parked our Transit van on the property. Didn’t stay there much as we were out mountain biking and exploring Tucson. It was great to have a safe, beautiful space to come home to each night. We were able to get good cell service to complete work calls in the morning without a problem.

Very nice spot to spend a couple of nights. Quiet and private with stunning views and a choice of places to park on flat paved driveway. Easy access to Tucson and the interstates.

View from my van.

I stayed At Jeff’s wonderful Cactus Oasis while I was attending the Rock &Gem shows in Feb. 2022. He even let my send some Amazon to his address. I had an awesome, flat and level parking area for my 17’ trailer. He provides a superb and really long hose access to water. Great sun access for my solar panel. (Note: I was too tired one night to put my portable solar panel away and something visited it during the night!) 😂 Coyotes can be Very noisy at 12:30am. My only caution is the dirt road in to the property- I was concerned if I was on the correct path as it was not well maintained- but I went Very slow and made it just fine. At night, the turn is hard to find- Tucson does not have street lights. 👀 I did extend my stay 2 more nights. Great saguaro sunset photo moments. I recommend Jeff’s Retreat as a nice quiet place to stay with a straight shot back into town.

Had an awesome experience putting my trailer at Jeff's place! It was quite with beautiful peek views of the city and easy access to pull the trailer through. There was a ton of space that I would have loved to check out but I was busy in Tucson during my whole stay. The location was perfect for easy acces to Tucson but not be in the city.. For me, it made for a great place to retreat to at the end of the day! Jeff was super kind and helpful when I needed it. I would totally recommend this spot!

Hi Hipcampers! We just experienced #OurFirstHipcampStay with Jeff at #SonoranDesertRetreat, Tucson, AZ, December 2021 *** and cut to the chase, it was very good. ***

And because we enjoyed it so much, we wanted to give a detailed review, in thanks.

FLEXIBILE: Jeff was very VERY flexible with our special requests/needs.

FRIENDLY: While we had very little interaction with our host(s?); we had only the requested and necessary communication which suited us. All communication responses were prompt. For example, the address provided in the automatic(?) welcome email brought us to the mailbox row at the turn off from the busy 40 mph road onto the dirt/gravel neighborhood roads. The campsite is another 0.5 – 1.0 mile beyond that, but we could not find it with the written directions. We got lost in the neighborhood (perhaps partly because it was dark, 8:45 – 9 PM), but Jeff quickly replied that he would meet us at the road and guide us in, which he did.
