Like an AirBNB. They even had bottles of water, soap and hand cleaner on the picnic table. Very welcoming. Answered messages quickly. Very helpful. Lovely secluded area.

Our first stay at Michael’s property was so enjoyable that we returned when we found ourselves in Tucson again. Quail, rabbits, a woodpecker, beautiful sunsets and clear night skies — the ranch is far enough away from the city to be peaceful without being too remote. Even though we arrived later than we’d planned, Michael was understanding and helped us get set up. If we visit Tucson again, we will definitely stay at Iron Quail Ranch.

We had a good time at this camp site. It’s easily accessible, quiet, peaceful, and the sunsets and sunrises are beautiful. Michael was very accommodating and provided us with water fill up for our travel trailer and even helped us dump our tanks since it was our first time and we weren’t sure how to. His wife was also very kind and gave our dog some treats and the kids some bubbles. The site also had a garden and chickens that the kids checked out. Our hosts were gracious enough to give us some fresh parsley for our lasagna that night, which was delicious. We were close enough to the Saguaro National park for day excursions, but were kind of limited because the park doesn’t allow pets. One of the great things about this camp site is that it’s enclosed by gates, so you don’t have to worry about your stuff getting stolen when your out and about. Also, my dog was able to explore off leash, which was nice. There’s a ramada, picnic table, and fire pit which were very useful and convenient. It was nice to get out of the city and actually have silence and no light/noise pollution. Overall, we had a good time and would recommend this site for camping.

First and foremost, Mike is an excellent host. He answered all of our questions promptly prior to the trip and was waiting to welcome us when we arrived. The area was nicely groomed and flat which accommodated our Airstream quite nicely. The ramada he has at the site is a nice place to grab shade in the heat of the day and protect yourself when rain presents itself. The site also has water for when you arrive and the ability to dump on your way out, very nice!

This was our very first Hipcamp stay and we could not have asked for a better experience. Michael’s property is secluded and quiet, yet only a short drive to Saguaro National Park, the Desert Museum, and Tucson Mountain Park. Michael greeted us when we arrived and was extremely helpful and generous throughout our week-long stay. The site was spacious and level, with several trails to explore the desert terrain. The views of mountains all around made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day, and we even got to see quail and a roadrunner. We highly recommend Iron Quail Ranch as a great home base from which to explore the Sonoran Desert and Tucson area.

This is our best experience camping in Tucson area! At first, we were reluctant given the distance from the city and the dirt road. It turned out to be a pleasant drive and easy access to Michael’s place. The 1.5-mile dirt road was not an issue at all. We loved the place right at the beginning. It was serene, private, and spacious. We stayed for 3 nights and felt very relaxed and safe here. Our dogs really had a great time as they could roam off-leash around the ranch. There were short trails to walk as well. The campsite was clean and leveled. We enjoyed the firepit so much, and the ready to use firewood was a plus! There were water spigot and dump station available near the entrance. Also, our dogs got their treats! Michael was kind and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Tucson or Saguaro National Park!
