At High Jinks Ranch you can enjoy a secluded and rustic experience, immersing yourself in the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. The ranch provides unsurpassed opportunities for birdwatching, hiking, and stargazing. Surrounded by the Coronado National Forest, this National Historic Registered site is a gateway to the Arizona Trail (AZT), an 800-mile (1,300 km) trail that traverses the north-south length of Arizona. High Jinks Ranch is far enough away from light pollution for numerous celestial bodies to become visible. Take a hike, enjoy the gorgeous sunrises, and reconnect with yourself, loved ones, and nature.
For the younger explorers among us, we have copies of the Arizona Trail Junior Explorer Handbook in English and Spanish--just ask for one during your visit.
The following items are available at High Jinks Ranch as an extra to your reservation: campfire kit, laundry, espresso machine (coffee beans included), and elopement package (officiant and champagne included).

This is a special property, perfect for the unstuffy and adventurous. The views are spectacular, the weather is great, and the vibe is CALM. If you’re a fancy-pants like me, the downstairs is luxurious.
Get up for the sunrise. Worth it.
The place has history and is crafted in an old handmade type of way. I love how rocks from the area were used to create these old western structures. The property overlooks the northeast side of Tucson - incredible views. You're secluded with these valley views that spread far and wide. As a tucson local, I had no idea myself that this part of the region was so different. Definately want to come back and get-away here!
We drove up in a truck, but I'm pretty sure a car would make it up the dirt roads. This is right along the Arizona trail, incredible giant rocks abound. Go for a hike!
At night, the stars are bright and looking out over the valley is majestic. The morning light that comes in is absolutely dreamy for a photographer or morning person.

My wife and I stayed here to ring in 2022. We arrived late in the evening and it was pitch black but we still had no problem finding it with iPhone gps. We stayed on the first floor of the main house. Beautiful accommodations. Very comfortable beds. We woke to an amazing view of the desert that seemed to go on forever. This place is worth checking out for the views alone! The beauty of the desert is all around. Endless places to explore. Sit in the sun and read a book or look into the historical records and the stories of previous owners. Tranquility and seclusion for days. What an experience. Looking forward to returning for many more adventures there.

Clark, it is great to hear you guys had such a good time! It was a pleasure hosting you and your four-legged family members. Thank you for sharing the photos and all the best for 2022.
