OUR TENTS

Each of our large, waterproof canvas bell tents - 216 sq. feet, 16 feet in diameter and height - include low profile windows and a large netted door with double zippers for privacy. Inside you'll see they come furnished with not only the necessary camping furniture, but luxury beds with high thread count sheets, plush down comforters, pillows and blankets. OUR BATHROOMS

Our camp has COMMUNAL bathroom facilities which are shared with all guests across camp. The bathrooms are under a separate canvas bell tent (not attached to individual guest tents) and are within walking proximity on the grounds. Bathrooms include a RV flush toilet, running sink, and warm shower. Water temperature all depends on usage, as well as outdoor temperatures and may at times be cold. *Bathroom water is not consumable, but can be used for brushing teeth.Only toilet paper, hand soap and paper towels are provided in the bathrooms. It was so beautiful and I would definitely stay here again!! A warning, it is COLD at night and the showers are cold! So be prepared for that, they have heaters you can rent which was useful! The stars are ABSOLUTELY beautiful because you are completely off grid without any light pollution!

This place is an oasis! Comfortable beds, complimentary coffee in the morning, and only 30 minutes from the Grand Canyon. The staff were super friendly as well. I’ve already told multiple friends about this place for when they decide to visit the area!

Had a lovely stay. Bed was super comfortable. Close enough to town, but far enough away for a quiet night.

I loved my tent. The mattress was super comfortable, I slept like a baby. It was awesome seeing all the stars at night by the campfire. The only advice I would give to anyone is messaging the host to confirm your tent number. At first, I got a tent number, but it changed later and no one notified me. I had to move all my things out of the tent and move to another tent. Overall, the place was gorgeous!

This was NOT glamping. The decorations look NOTHING like the picture and the showers were freezing cold. 2/3 bathroom were clogged and disgusting. On arrival, we spent 45 mins trying to find our spot and were given a map that didn’t contain our site number. When we finally found our tent, the bed was clearly used and it wreaked of alcohol. The host was not kind or accommodating at all. I wish I could post pictures to show how misleading their ad is!!

Hi Anna, We apologize that this was your experience with Wander Camp. When you stay early season, you are right -- it can get cold! However we do have safe propane heaters available to rent for those who would like to be more comfortable. As mentioned in our check-in details, we do recommend arriving before dark and our camp reception closes so that you do not run into problems finding your tent (or finding someone else was in your tent), we will implement your feedback to better inform guests about what their expectations of camp should be and when they should arrive in order to get assistance! We are also constantly improving our off grid bathrooms, which despite their problems are still a huge step up from the Porta Potties offered at many other rustic glampgrounds / camprounds in our price range!

The tents were awesome! Surprisingly warm at night and the beds were beyond comfortable, and the staff was very helpful, but the bathroom/showers were absolutely disgusting. Toilets were half filled with feces and urine and the showers shared the same space with the showers. I would not recommend if you do not have other bathroom/shower accommodations. Over all we thought it was great but wouldn’t come back because of the bathroom situation.

Hi Allison, thanks for your review and we are glad you LOVED the tents! We are taking all the feedback about our off-grid bathrooms (we don't have running water and septic onsite) to improve them AND set clearer expectations for guests. Our property is meant to be Rustic, and we are glad you loved the views!

Wander camp was pretty cool, you will forsure enjoy the location being about 20-30 minutes from the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

On Hipcamp the site says it has bout 6 tents, but when you show up there is more than 32ish + sites from what we could see, so more crowded than you think since they are spreading the love across multiple booking sites for the most coverage it seems.

For all the tents there are two restrooms/shower/sink combo tents (more would be better here, but don't know what their expansion plans are for the future).

We rolled in a little later than usual, and Jeremy (great host representative) was there to greet us and guide us to two tents that could have been ours, both were not what we signed up for (king bed) and instead had triple twin beds. He offered to get us a bit of a discount since it wasnt what we had booked, and we said that sounded great, but that was the last we had heard of it.

Aside from some things that are a bit like teething issues being a new operation, overall it was pretty cool. I recommend you bring your own campstove, sleeping bags (you will freeze with the sheets provided and heaters are an additional fee, which makes sense propane aint free).

If you book through Hipcamp you wont regret it, but bring some extra sheets in colder months. Also if you are expecting an instagram-esque experience, the tents aren't as glam as the pictures make it seem but I would assume thats a decked out tent for a higher cost, just an assumption though.

Hi Scott, thanks for staying with us in our early season months despite the cold! This campsite has 40 tents across 40 acres (hipcamp just doesn't allow us to add that many to the listing) -- We will work with them to see if this can be changed. We try to offer an affordable Glamping experience at only $100 / night and thus choose to keep our operations Rustic! There are other more expensive luxury options for those that are looking for that experience, but that isn't us! Thanks for the feedback, we love Jeremy too and he is working hard to make camp better each day!

Overall, our stay at Wander Camp was lovely. With a few small improvements, I can see this venue taking off in popularity for unique stays close to The Grand Canyon.

The campground is nice. The tents (all 30+ of them) are all randomly placed throughout the camp ground. Each spot has room for a vehicle and then some. The tent was amazing! Very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable!

There is a communal fire pit area which was fun to hang around in the evening and meet people from all around the world! Definitely a perk of a venue like this.

Only downsides; it was COLD. Maybe I misread the listing but I thought space heaters would be provided for every tent but that was not the case. Heaters were available to rent for $20 and firewood was also available for purchase. It was very very very cold outside and without the heater it would have been a cold night in the tent!

The roads to/from camp are pretty rough. If you don’t have a high-clearance vehicle I would be very careful. Very uneven and lots of dips in the road. Also be sure to arrive in the daylight as it is difficult to find!

It seemed a bit disorganized as another couple had also booked the same exact tent space as us. Jeremy (the guy working there) told them he didn’t have our reservation but we had definitely reserved the tent so it was clearly an internal error.

Overall, great experience! As mentioned, with a few minor improvements I would absolutely stay again and again! Thank you, Wander Camp!

Hi Lauren, Thank you for your review and for staying with us early season despite the cold temperatures! We are working with Hipcamp to better integrate into our calendar so that they don't overbook individuals or place them in the wrong tents! We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in your adventures!
