Best Hipcamp in Arizona according to Outside Magazine!
We are located on the native land of the Havasupai, Hualapai, Hopi, and Diné people.
Large glamping yurt/bell tent on 10 wooded acres. With only 4 units on our 10 acre property you will not come into close contact with other guests. Perfect for couples, families or groups seeking an escape into nature. Bathroom (composting toilet style) and shower with on-demand hot water (May-October). Short drive from the town of Williams; 45 miles to Grand Canyon. Peaceful landscape, mountain air, and beautiful night sky!
The yurt has 1 queen-size, comfy floor bed and 1 fold-out futon. It can get chilly at night, even in the summer, but we provide lots of sheets and blankets, plus a heater available for rent if you need it! If you aren't used to mountain weather, consider bringing more extra blankets or a sleeping bag.
You'll have Wifi from our dish which works May-October. We do encourage our guests to disconnect, but if you choose to stay connected the internet is always available. Since we're out a ways from town, T-Mobile/Metro PCS is the only reliable cell network. AT&T does get a weak signal usually good for calls, same with Verizon.
The yurt is on 10 acres of wild land. There are two other yurts and our van home on the property, but they are spread out so you'll have privacy. Check with us before having a campfire to make sure wind and weather conditions are favorable. This yurt is a 2 minute walk from the parking area so don't expect to be right next to your car.
Our entire setup is done in a way to be as sustainable as possible. Most items are built from up-cycled wood and we tried to limit the use of concrete and plastics. The goal is for you to feel like you are comfortably part of the natural environment. Please respect the land and it will take care of you! We respectfully ask that you try your best not to use single-use plastic during your stay with us. We really need to change our habits in order to save the earth! We have reusable metal water bottles for sale if you need them.
Our toilet is a dry and composting toilet. It doesn't smell and also doesn't use any of our valuable water. We are happy to discuss with any and everyone the necessity of changing our habits if we are to create a better more sustainable world.
Our shower is outdoors and a really amazing experience. The water is heated by the sun, so on a cloudy day there may not be as much hot water as you are used to. The sun does come out nearly every day so this is rarely an issue. We are also in a very dry region, so we encourage less usage of water in general.
We provide drinking water, local information, plus a Grand Canyon park pass so you will save $35 going in. There are decent restaurants in town and Zach is a trained chef specializing in creative plant-based cuisine.
This is a place to chill out in nature, not a party place. We don't mind if you have a few drinks, but no loud music ever, or loud voices during quiet hours (9pm-8am). Be respectful to the fact that we are on a hill and sound carries easily, and we often have multiple groups staying at once.
No parking space for large vehicles or RVs. If you are bringing anything bigger than an SUV, please check with us in advance. 1 car per group!
At times when we are busy with other projects, the yurt may operate using a self check-in process. We will provide a video showing how everything works.
During summer and fall extras like yoga classes, guided hikes, professional massage, and Reiki energy healing may be available. Please send us a message to inquire about our availability before adding extras or breakfast to your stay. We also run weekend yoga and hiking retreats from time to time. We encourage you to stay more than 1 night if possible to take advantage of all this area has to offer.

Carrie and Zach were both welcoming and inviting. They shared their favorite hikes, yoga practice and home with us. They were exceptional hosts. Would recommend to anyone looking for adventure and an experience to remember.
The entire experience was great: from the set up that includes a nice trail from the parking area to the yurt, to the details inside the yurt, to the bathroom area. It's clear thought and care is put into the design of the experience.
An absolute gem of a place to stay. The property could not be more beautiful. It was a stunning area to explore. Both the sunset and the stargazing were breathtaking. The tent itself was comfortable and well equipped. The mattress was very nice and all of the provided blankets kept us nice and warm. The bathrooms are clean and user friendly and the shower worked perfectly! The proximity to both the Grand Canyon and the city of Flagstaff is ideal. The area was well-lit so even after returning from the Grand Canyon well after dark we had no issue navigating the trails to and from the parking area and tent. There is a small “store” on the property with goods for purchase and everything was so nice! Zach and Carrie’s vision for the property is inspiring and Zach was so kind and helpful during our check-in process. Thank you so much for sharing your property with us! We hope to make it back out one day.
It was a wondeful stay to get away from it all! Zach was an awesome and accomodating host. The yurts were very impressive, with everything you would need for the night. It was very quiet and peaceful and was easy to unwind, especially while relaxing in the hammock, listening to the birds.
Zach and Carrie have a lovely piece of land and have done a great job of creating a welcoming and low-key yurt experience. Zach gave us a warm welcome on arrival and helped orient us to the property. Lots of personal touches in the yurts as well as the common areas make for a friendly stay. We would happily stay again.
I had a great time. It was a beautiful space and quiet. I was confused when I booked thinking private bathroom belonged to each camp site. So being a single traveler, I was concerned with not having a look out incase someone walked in on me. But it didn't happen and everyone seemed to keep to themselves. The bed was comfortable. The nights were cold, but there were plenty of blankets provided. I would love to visit again in the future! I recommend for a fun, beautiful and peaceful spot to unwind and disconnect.
We loved everything at this magical site. The owners, Zach & Carrie, cherish values we’re looking for in our lives - respect to nature, people and history. Our boy Toshi (dog!) had the most amazing time here as well. Zach hooked us up with a park pass and knows a lot about everything around (I’m vegan, he recommends really cool food options). It’s an oasis - close enough to enjoy Grand Canyon and Flagstaff, but remote enough to hear coyotes sing in the night and watch the stars :) the only thing we missed - but we also encountered a heat wave! - would be a shaded area by the tent - would help immensely to set up breakfast etc during hot hours. Thanks you Zach & Carrie, for sharing your place with others!
We wanted a break from a interstate roads and motels on a 4 day drive. This was a perfect option. The hosts are so kind and responsive and the set up allowed us to experience the renewal of nature after days of asphalt. Thank you.
PS- we traveled with 15 week old puppies. They loved it but be careful with puppies a”because the ground is covered with delicious rocks (it’s Arizona).

Hi Melodye, thanks for the review! We're glad you enjoyed yourself. We have 2 bathrooms shared between 4 campsites, and they do have the signs saying "Knock First!" out front so people don't walk in on you.
