The website said that there was kitchen facilities, which sounds funny when toilets and water are not, and of course there was not. The campsites are poorly marked. The 2 white teepees visible. Why having to pay a cleaning fee of 5$? For what? We did not stay at Desert Skys. The I 40 too close. Camp host and his 3 lose dogs very friendly, but we chose to leave upon arrival, he said he would refund the camping fee, not yet done.

The site was great but we were woken up by two people walking two separate groups of barking dogs. This lady also let her very large and unfriendly looking dogs walk right up to us while we were packing to get out of there. Also the host didn’t answer our call while we had additional questions about directions.

This reviews written by Abraham's wife but Jason was extremely nice! We got to the site too late so we missed his awake time hahaha we did 3nd up finding our tent super quickly and easily based off of the directions that he gave us. It was so sweet of him to give us a call after we made our reservations totally last minute since we realized we wouldn't find our own campsite on time. He's also from SoCal! So it was cool to talk to another local. My daughter who is 11 months old was with us for this trip and ironically she slept like a rock the whole time. Unfortunately, we had to leave early since our air mattress kept deflating for whatever reason so we never actually go to meet Jason and the fam. I did want to meet everyone because they all seemed so nice!!! Definitely will be back if we're ever in the area. I soooo want to personally thank Jason for accomodating for us so Late and last minute at night. His land was perfectly away from everything and the night sky looked so beautiful.

We wanted a one night stay in transition to our next stop. This was great. Quiet and we met Jason, the Kids , rudy and the besset, which they are breedind. All in all I would recommend this place. Jason was a good host, offering à bbq, wood for sale. Try it you will like it.

Perfect spot to stay a night to visit petrified forest national park (10 miles away). Jason is very helpful. The place is close to the highway to avoid unnecessary travel time but far enough to not hear traffic and get a good night of rest. Jason also sells wood and ice.

Jason was super nice and greeted me when I arrived. Only one other group was there so it was perfect. There was two spots that had pits and the rest was a open lot.

Hipcamper Justin

We had a great time! We had the whole family (2 adults and 3 kids), and Jason and Kim were great hosts right from the beginning - our kids loved meeting their pig and saying hi to their dogs. Jason then showed us our site, which unexpectedly had a large and sturdy tent already set up and available for us to use. It happened to be a particularly windy evening and night, so the on-site tent/yurt was perfect. It was large enough for all 5 of us, kept us plenty warm, and gave us a nice flat spot to sleep.

We would stay here again in a second. Only a few minutes from Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park. We had a great time!
