Cows often stop by and sometimes you'll see jackrabbits running around.
Natural features you'll find at Big Spin Ranch Petrified Forest in Arizona.
Even on a cool day the sun is strong and there's no shade trees so come prepared for that.

Cows like to say hi!
Exactly as described! A flat plot of a land with cows! If you read the hosts instructions you won't have problems finding the site, don't rely on Google Maps to get you there. AWD and 4x4 definitely helped, if it rains I feel like you would need one of those to get to the site.
Star gazing at it’s finest
We were pleasantly surprised at the camp site. It’s down a bumpy dirt road and in the middle of what felt like nowhere. We were tent camping out of a pickup truck so we had no problem getting to the site. The stars where amazing and you could hear the trains off in the distance. It was a quick drive to Petrified Forest National Park. I would come back again just to see the stars.
After we finally found the location, it was beautiful. Unfortunately, the host did not respond to our messages when trying to locate the space. Their phone was disconnected and did ring. We never did find the sign that indicates we were on the correct property. Our saving grace was a neighbor who drove by on a four wheeler to let us know we were in the right place. It was a bit worrisome because the closest neighbor to the property has a sign that reads, "Trespassers WILL be shot!"
Nice camping area
Wide open space just as advertised. Was able to get my 2WD Toyota rav 4 to the location. Had a few different pull outs and some had rocks already set up for fires. It was windy so we didn’t set up a campfire ourselves. Very Pretty sunset and moon was full, so the desert stayed lit up even after the sun was gone.
Westbound & down
Nice quiet spot off the interstate! Still not sure I was in the correct spot, My GPS coordinates did not match theirs but I followed their written instructions and I believe I found the right spot. There was another group just up the way from us as well. The stars were beautiful! The train over the ridge ran all night long but that was not upsetting to me. Overall I wish there was more places like this off the highways!
