Camping under the stars
Laura and Bruce were the absolute best hosts! We brought in the new year on their land just south of Sedona and had such a magical experience. We got to meet their friendly dogs, alpacas and chickens. Laura was even sweet enough to make us a light breakfast! Bruce played a little fiddle for us. Would highly recommend this site with these lovely souls. Our group will certainly make it back here!
My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The river was beautiful as were the giant, white sycamore trees. I would highly recommend this stay!
Above & beyond!
Laura and Bruce, our hosts, were exceptional and went above and beyond for us. They have multiple sites on their property, a stone house with toilet and hot shower, and other great accommodations to make your camping stay better.
From the start, Laura was quick to offer an alternative route to the property due to the high water on one of the roads. After arriving, she offered us access to their UTV to carry our bags and equipment to our chosen site. We were there during AZ's "winter" from Indiana :D Even though it was cold and rainy, it was a convenient drive to Pheonix for warmer-weather hikes and they had other great things to do in the area.
Campsite: We chose the site directly on the creek. Loved the sound of rushing water and the view it provided. We had two tents set up outside the campfire ring (2 person and 4 person), and the cleared area around the fire was perfect for chairs, table, and hanging out outside the tents. Could have put up a hammock, too.
Bathroom: The stone house used for the bathroom was great for camping. They have a portable toilet (soon to be a fully plumbed toilet), hot shower, sink, and provided toilet paper (little luxuries while camping). The bathhouse is not temperature controlled, but it worked great!
Amenities: We took advantage of their option to buy firewood and eggs. They offer great crates of dried wood and a dozen eggs from their on-site chickens. We also had a hosted visit with the alpacas and got to feed them by hand.
Camping with alpacas
The extra care that Laura and Bruce took to accomodate my stay made the trip memorable. Land was nice, quiet and secluded. First challenge was finding the road to drive down, which was unmarked and begins in the lot beside the store. 34.63772812861195, -111.81608391503033 (the McGuireville mini mart). And from there it is a rough, slow going road, made for 4wd, but I made it just fine with my old fwd toyota camry. Made friends with the dogs and alpacas, nice in-progress bathroom shower accomodations right at campsite. I was kept supplied with firewood and coffee. I hope to make it back there sometime.
Laura’s property is absolutely gorgeous. The walk to the creek isn’t too far and the campsite there is stunning, with the babbling brook providing a beautiful ambiance. Laura herself is super kind and accommodating, very friendly. Would absolutely recommend!
Welcoming and a perfect getaway
We loved our stay at Beaver Creek Oasis! The campsite is just 30min outside Sedona. We got to Laura and Bruce's property in a small SUV without issues. They are extremely hospitable upon arrival and gave us a tour of the campsites so we could pick a spot. we were the first and decided to take the spot by the Creek. They are so genuine and treat you like family. The stars were beautiful at night and the amenities were great. Thank you for making our outdoor stay memorable.
