Dragoon is rich in history and natural beauty. The name comes from the 3rd U.S. Calvary Dragoons who battled the Chiricahua Apaches here led by Chief Cochise during the Apache Wars. Nearby, you can visit the confederate graves and ruins of the Dragoon Springs Stage Station. About 20 minutes away is Cochise Stronghold, home and burial place of Chief Cochise and Chiricahua Nat'l Monument is about an hour away (great hiking and climbing!). Unique to this area are the amazing rock formations of pillars, balances, and stacked rocks caused by cooled volcanic granite 50 million years ago. In addition, our area is home to hundreds of different bird species, the occasional Gila monster, coyotes, deer, and javalina.Charming cabin with outdoor hot shower, private patio, and desert/mountain views. Near Chiricahua Nat'l Monument, Cochise Stronghold, and Willcox Wine Trail. Off grid with electricity (heat, a/c). Kitchenette has a hand pump sink, microwave, hot plate, small fridge, and complimentary teas and coffee. Also an r/v toilet inside, commercial porta potty outside. Fantastic star gazing while warming up next to the propane firepit. Our guest's privacy and comfort are our priorities!

RV camping with mountain views

Tracy is a very gracious host. The outdoor shower and little patio with chairs facing the mountain was relaxing. Being alone with a nice view was also relaxing. The only downside were lots of freight trains all hours of the day and night. Our RV air conditioner provided the white noise that helped cancel out the train noise.

Long range views!

We loved our stay at 3:10 to Dragoon. Tracy went the extra mile to provide a nice setting to park our van with amenities not often found at other HipCamps. We would stay there again!

Glamping Cabin in Dragoon

Well worth the stay!

Tracy's little cabin was cute, cozy and well stocked with lots of amenities. The availability of the BBQ, gas fire pit and outdoor shower especially encapsulated the camping atmosphere. Lovely, wide open area on the edge of a small neighborhood. If you like trains, this is the place to visit, with tracks just a quarter mile away, train spotting is ideal! Watching the birds and local wildlife, as well as the sun rise over the elegant and graceful Dragoon Mountains was an added bonus! Tracy and Peter were also very kind and accommodating and a pleasure to get to know
