Trees all around and a lake near by
It was great camping. If you enjoy being surrounded by nature, this is your spot. Gordon is a great host. It is also convenient that his children sell wood and they bring it right to your campsite.
We were a big group with kids and toddlers and they all had a lot of fun.
The lake is a short walk from the campsites.
Something to consider is that you will have to walk a little from the parking lot to your campsite. Keep that in mind too if you need your car's plug to inflate your beds.
A wagon to take your stuff from the parking to your lot would be easier and faster.
5 adults, 3 tents, and a dog! oh my
We booked this site as our first Hipcamp experience, and it was awesome! Gord was so friendly and welcoming.
We all had a great time! Even through the rain and mosquitoes haha 😜
The lake was so close, and so much fun! Definitely less “peopley” than the public Sylvan beach area.
We stayed at site #1, and really loved how scenic and private it was. The site was really well maintained, everything was all set up for us when we arrived. We loved how spacious it was too! We were able to fit 3 tents, a canopy and still have tons of space to move around and sit by the fire.
Overall we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back!
Thank you! ☺️
Hard to find but the ubication good
The place was private, very well located near the lake front, with a lots of trees and good distance from other campers; but on the other hand was veey hard to find with little signalling or markers to combine with the prompts from GPS mapings wich did not help much.
Gord was an excellent host. His campsites were excellent. They were big enough to enjoy having a tent, cook area, fire pit, and I brought a portable shower. The privacy of the campsite was amazing. It was a location that felt off the grid but amenities were only a 15 min drive away. It was nice to have an outhouse on site. I would definitely recommend a Thermacell; the mosquitoes were the only negative part.
Great location for rustic camping, we were in site 1 which was the most secluded but was a bit of a hike from the parking area so pack light if you choose that spot compared to the other 2. Carried paddleboards from parking area to Half Moon Bay boat launch area without too much trouble, very convenient location for how private it is once you reach your camping area. Thanks Gordon!
Perfect spot if you’re looking to just be with nature. We barely noticed the other campsite, especially at night. The sunset from the beach was beautiful. Would stay here again.
This campsite is in a beautiful aspen forest close to a beach on Sylvan Lake, it was a great place for a small group of us to stay (6 adults and 2 babies). There were other campers there but the sites were far enough away that we didn't feel like we were getting in each other's way - especially since our group had young children that could have been loud and we were worried about inconveniencing others.
