Pitch your tent in campsite #5 with your own picnic table and campfire ring. Your campsite is a 1-2 minute leisure walk from the parking area, and port-a-potty; and the lake is a stones throw in front of your site.

Where the campground sits was once part of the Seward highway prior to the highway being rerouted on the other side of the property, along the AK railroad. This is seen as the backside of each campsite butts up against a mossy rock wall where the road was carved out of the mountainous environment, and the front-side of each campsite has a beautiful view of the lake.

When packing for your adventure, keep in mind that Seward is part of Alaska's Coastal Temperate Rainforest, providing lush green, mossy forests with larger trees and plenty precipitation. Rain-gear is essential.

To preserve the mossy rock wall, please be sure to stay off the mossy rock walls. Do not climb the rock walls. Property above and behind the campground is privately owned and "no trespassing" signs are posted.

Grouse Lake is small, so if you enjoy floating on the water, bring a small raft, skiff, canoe, or paddle boat or board and enjoy. The best fishing in Grouse Lake during the summer is from a skiff or canoe.

No life guard on duty, so swim at your own risk.

Be considerate; Be mindful; Be kind; Be thoughtful:Quiet time: 10am - 10pm.Clean up after your animals. Dogs must be leashed. Campfires must not exceed the campfire ring. No cutting of trees.

Grouse Lake Campground does not have shower facilities, nor does it have potable water, so remember to bring plenty of drinking water with you. Showers are available in Seward at the boat harbor.

Grouse Lake Campground boarders Chugach National Forest, so there will be wildlife, both big and small. Be Bear Aware and keep all food in vehicle when not consuming it. Do not feed the wildlife.

Parking is provided at south end of campground.
