If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had the best time there in RV spot 1.. had a nice fire pit in the woods and plenty of room for the kids to run and play… it was a short drive to cheaha state park so we went there one day and spent all day. Also there is a great trade day 1 mile down the road . John the owner came over to meet us when we got there and he is a great guy… cant wait to go back
Rv community ,not campground
Pros: Jeff the owner is super nice and helpful, came to greet us and say goodbye. The small silos enclosing the bath, laundry was really clean. All sites have full hookups including 50 amps. It's close to the CMP and talladega superspeedway.
Cons: It is not a campground but more of a RV community. I get the need for income for his sites, but it felt like we were outsiders- the only short term renters in a group of 5 on top of the hill. There were trees in between each site and everyone kept to themselves, but it was evident that others were full timers. There 10 more full time campsites occupied on the pastures before you get to the hill where we were. Dogs were not on leashes. The is a trail that encircles the entire campground but part have been overgrown. The creek is not near the campsite and you have to drive there ( there is a grass parking area/turnaround). There is a loop in the creek that was supposed to take about 30 minutes to complete but we chose not to, although we brought them with us.
If you don't mind being part of a fulltime RV campground community, the location and site is very convenient and has full hookups.
The RV site is absolutely beautiful, the host is helpful but hands-off, and the longer term residents keep to themselves without being unfriendly. The property is really nice, and the silo restrooms and bathhouses are absolutely charming.
Private camping site with amenities
We enjoyed our time in John’s land. We did a quick stopover on a long roadtrip, arriving just before sunset and leaving just after sunrise, so we didn’t get to walk to the creek. However, we were impressed with the site. It was beautiful and private. The bath and shower house were cute and clean. He had lights strung up around the campsite which meant we didn’t have to break ours out. We would definitely stay there again.
Sweet country atmosphere
Everything is in really good condition; the bathhouses and laundry facilities are pristine and very cute, with little extras like night lights and sanitary wipes labeled “you are welcome to use.”
John is very responsive to communication and friendly without being overbearingly social.
The campsite is absolutely gorgeous, shaded, and has enough space and tree barrier between neighbors to feel private.
The nearest store is only 3 minutes away and the Dollar General is only 6 minutes away, which was super convenient for grabbing a new power strip I forgot I needed!
Simply a can't miss!
Nice private spot with full and easy access hookup. Very quiet. 5G cell service is very good. Probably the best camp bathrooms I have ever used. Unique because they are built from chicken feeder silos. Spacious, clean and private. Awesome place to stay!
