Description

Not 100% deserty, Lac Vieux Desert Campground will land you right at the headwaters of the Wisconsin River. These majestic waters were once home to the Chippewa/Ojibwa Indians, giving it that historical flare. The 2,853-acre lake is pretty rad, especially considering it is the largest in the Nicolet and shares its waters with the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. However, you do need to stay on top of border lake fishing regulations and such. As an added bonus, you are surrounded by plenty of rustic resorts that can be hit up for some classic warm meals (just in case your fishing skills are lacking).
