The fire pit is waiting for you to set up and enjoy a drink listening to the sounds of the bush while the sun goes down and the stars come out. At night keep an ear out for the mopoke and an eye out for the owl who also lives somewhere in the bush nearby and if the moon is large, don’t be surprised if the magpies start up again once the moon rises. This is a great spot to enjoy a bit of star gazing.
You will need to bring your own toilet and to take all waste with you. A dump point is available in Bindoon (20km), adjacent to the public toilets behind the Hall.
At One Green Sheep the environment is a big focus for us and we’d love to share it with you. Over the last 7years or so have planted nearly 50,000 trees to build wildlife corridors across our farm. You might see kangaroos near the camp site area and on the breakaway country especially in the late afternoon and may be lucky enough to see an echidna or other small mammals. There is abundant bird life and plenty of beautiful bush to explore. The endangered Carnabys Black Cockatoos return to our farm to breed from early August and can often be heard calling in the late afternoons.
In line with our environmental focus, we ask campers to Leave No Trace. This means you will need to have your own toilet facilities with you, you will need to take all your rubbish away with you and and leave your car parked for the duration of your stay. As fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) you will need to either bring firewood with you, or you can purchase some from us.
After you’ve gone we shouldn’t see anything to let us know you have been there, apart from some ash in the fire pit. The old adage of Take Only Photographs, Leave Only Footprints is a good one.
Dogs are welcome but please keep them with you and don’t let them chase stock or wildlife. You are welcome to bring push bikes, or to explore on foot.
Please note that our shire has fire restrictions in place from October 1st until May 31st so no fires are permitted during this time.
We look forward to meeting you.

Derrin (the host) met me and showed me to the campground. She was a lovely host. Birdsong itself is a beautiful spot and I was free to go walking around the area which was beautiful. The bird song and activity is pretty much constant, and I thoroughly enjoyed observing and listening. The site is flattish, some levelling needed but all good. It is gravelly not muddy which was also good. I certainly hope to return and plan to bring friends with me. Thank you Derrin for a lovely break away in the bush.
