Field And Stream Getaway
in Janice D.’s Land, WashingtonPeaceful Riverside at North Fork
in North Fork Retreat, OregonIt is peaceful, 5/5 stars!
Site is lovely, right on the creek and down the dead end Fish Hatchery road, so there is little traffic. There is no power but there is water across the road. The 'composting' toilet/outhouse is a nice touch and we appreciated the cleanliness. There is a nice fire ring for use in season (there was a fire ban during our stay). Check out Mary's Peak nearby, the hike from the meadow is better than the short one from the top parking lot. We saw a mink across the creek and the sound of the rippling water was the best part.
River View
in River View, OregonNice view, spartan spot.
The views of the river are phenomenal! It backs to nice greenspace but it also is next to hwy 101 where there is a hill, so there was Jake brakes and sirens disturbing the peaceful view. There is no cover, so bring a pop up or shelter to protect from sun/rain. There is power but no water and no garbage. There is a very cute hut with a porch that you can hang out in to escape the elements, though we did not use it.
Sunset Bay Meadows
in Sunset Bay Meadows, OregonParadise found!
This was a hidden gem! Secluded and peaceful and gorgeous! We were overwhelmed with joy at all the excellent options for spots, the privacy, creek right next to our site, trails to explore the huge property. It is out of the way (takes a bit to get there from the hwy) but SO worth it! As a result it is extremely quiet with zero traffic noise. We would give it six stars if we could! The shower was decadent but we didn't use the sauna. It had everything and we wished we had booked more nights. It feels strange to drive through a golf course to get to your site, but trust us, its WORTH IT!
Cornerstone Ranch on the RogueRiver
in Cornerstone Ranch, OregonIdyllic farm: come camp with elk.
Beautiful farm in a giant valley with stunning old trees and elk who regularly hang out in the next field. The field you stay in is enclosed with split rail fence and bordered by a dry creek bed and the driveway to the active and working stables. Great water hook up but no power. There was also garbage and a porta. Lots of level spots and a picnic table. So many hikes and things to do nearby and it's very close to town but far enough away to be pretty quiet. There are six spots in addition to 2 yurts, and only three were occupied when we were there, but it could get crowded (esp the porta) if it was full capacity.
Langlois Meadow Hideaway
in Langlois Meadow Hideaway, OregonNice green spot in a tiny town.
Beautiful meadow right in town with a somewhat small level spot to park. You have access to the meadow, picnic table, power, and water, but no toilet. The highway is on the other side of the meadow, but it is mostly obscured by trees. Very nice dog and hosts. The landscaping was beautiful. There are many things to do, very close by.
