Brian is an awesome host! He’s a very friendly guy and easy to make to conversation with. When we first arrived, he led us to a nice secluded area in the woods, and brought us his own farm fresh eggs, firewood, and s’mores fixings! We cooked the eggs the next morning, and they were absolutely delicious. Much better than any store bought eggs.
Several of the other campers brought kids, which Brian put on a movie for them via his projector. It’s obvious that Brian cares a lot about his hipcamp and is very passionate with his work. 10 out of 10, would stay again!

in John Z.’s Land, WisconsinJohn has a very beautiful place! When we got there, he showed us around the farm and introduced us to the chickens. There were two spots to stay at, and we chose the secluded one in the woods. He supplied us more than enough firewood, and let us use the porch of this small cabin to chill on. The outdoor shower was awesome and really fun to use! John is obviously proud of his place, rightfully so. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing by.

My boyfriend and I didn’t arrive till very late, so we didn’t get a chance to really look around the place. However, when we got up the next morning, the place looked very beautiful and welcoming.
Past trip
in Kerr creek, IndianaThis place was simple yet peaceful. My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights. We set up camp in the large yard and built a fire there too. Plenty of firewood was supplied and easy to burn. We never met the host, but we befriended their nice dog Blake who came to camp with us :). For anyone in the area looking for a quiet place to camp, then this is a perfect spot to go.
Past trip
in Rusty's Loft, OhioJay was awesome!! When we arrived, he walked us out to our campsite and helped us build a fire. He supplied us with more than enough firewood. When we asked him about the showers, he led us up to a beautiful yet unfinished place called rustys loft. It was an absolutely stunning interior with gorgeous decoration and design. There was another family already up there taking showers, so while we were waiting, we all sat down on the couches and made chit chat.
The next morning, my boyfriend and I went back up to his house to say goodbye. He gave us one more quick tour of the place, and told us about the history of his old barn, and how he plans to refurbish it into a bridal house for weddings. As we were driving away, he came out of his house with a bottle of his very own fresh harvested raw honey for only 5 bucks. It was absolutely delicious!
We wish we had more time to stay and explore the beautiful landscape that jay is so obviously proud of (which he has a right to be!). We never did get around to kayaking, but I befriended the 6 toed cat poly, the sweetest cat in the world. I wish we were passing back through Ohio so we could see the place again! Jay was a super awesome and accommodating host, and the place was absolutely beautiful. For anyone passing through the area or not, I definitely recommend this farm!

Shelters at Heritage Farms in CVNP
in Camping at Heritage Farms, OhioThis campsite was definitely the most professional one I’ve stayed at so far. It was a beautiful landscape of spruce saplings with many campsites. We stayed in one of the shelters and firewood was dropped up by one of their workers. The next morning we woke up to a huge flea market going on at the farm which was very fun! Would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone in the area.
Past trip
in Runnin Crazy Farm, PennsylvaniaThis place was really cool! Me and my boyfriend stayed here one night. The view on top of the hill was nice, and it was cool sleeping next to the ponies. It was a little difficult getting up the hill, but my car did not bottom out and was fine. Mendi was accommodating and firewood was provided.

I appreciate how this campsite had nice bathrooms (clean, somewhat cozy), free firewood (that burned extra well!), and areas marked clearly for tent camping, which is what we did. We talked to another guy at the site who said that this place used to be booming, and I can see how (accessible, good amenities, state park very close by). One thing I disliked, however, was the lack of any service or wifi: I could not send a text. Also, with the renovations (gravel and bricks everywhere), it was somewhat difficult to walk up to the bathrooms, especially at night without a flashlight. But all in all, it was a decent campsite, and I’m looking forward to seeing it improve in time.

Kyle met us at the parking spot and helped us carry all of our stuff on a lightweight lawnmower. The place was nice and had spots for a tent, a good fire pit with free firewood, and a little private bathroom. I can’t wait to see what this campsite will turn into.
