Heavily populated by Cherokee Indians till 1700s the spirit of the people and how they lived connected with Mother Nature still can be felt here. Please park in the designated parking area. There is a sign provided if you choose to drive across the drainage, ditches and into the grassland and earth, or up to the edge of the pond, you may very well have difficulties driving a 2 Wheel Dr. vehicle, and need further assistance. All campsites are within a short radius within 50 yards of the parking lot. Please park your vehicle there even if your car camping. Please maintain the packet it in packet it out attitude, it will be noted in your review if you discard your trash!!! Currently the road and parking lot are in fine shape there’s almost $10,000 worth of gravel between the two if you drive off of these surfaces you will be responsible for whatever wrecker services needed or required to remove your vehicle.

Like other reviews say, the gravel road is a bit bumpy in spots but my dodge caravan handled it just fine. The site is very peaceful and charming with many spots to pitch a tent. I chose a spot closer to the creek so I could fall asleep to the sound of the water- very relaxing! David was very kind and his dog Splasher is very sweet and had a great time playing with my pup- she even came down to say good morning and play the day after I arrived 😁. There is a grill on site and there was some firewood already stocked up. The outhouse is nice and not too far of a walk from the site. I would have loved to stay longer, but will have to come back another time!

beware with a car
The driveway is a fairly steep down hill. If you have a rear wheel drive car, do not attempt if it's wet, and maybe not even if it's dry. I drove a prius down a day after a heavy rain. The drive way has a gravel base, but I really needed to rally to be certain of getting out. If the public road is wet when you are approaching, I would highly consider not attempting the drive way if you don't have AWD or 4x4. If you have a nice fwd car, you might not be happy attempting this camp site. Did a great job on the out house with lumber from site.

Great spot...bring a tough car
Gorgeous and quiet. Way out away from everything but within a 30 minute drive of many waterfall hikes and kayaking opportunities. I was there for a week and didn't have a chance to get to everything. 2nd nicest outhouse I've ever used, which is high praise...I've been in a bunch and one was just ridiculously fancy. Watch out for yellow jackets, they were everywhere, but we ignored each other and I had no trouble. Ideal location for solitary camping in November, but it is large enough for a group to be quite comfortable as well...even plenty of trees for multiple hammocks.

Perfect spot near Tallulah Gorge!
The road down to the site was a little rough but nothing our little car couldn't manage! David's land is very peaceful and secluded. We went in mid October and I swear the leaves in the trees changed colors while we were there! There was a disturbance the first night we were there, completely out of David's control and he took the time to apologize personally. He also made it a point to ride his bike down to camp when we arrived to welcome us and give us more information about the site. Theres a grill and a fire pit and a picnic table. We enjoyed cooking over the fire and having coffee at the table in the morning taking in the beautiful fall colors and cool morning air. We will definitely be coming back!

I have been to many places, this is one of the best. If you are looking for a place for pure relaxation and pleasure? This can be your first choice. I must add that David is an excellent artist and of course a very kind host. I am grateful to him and his girlfriend for bringing me so many good moments. And finally, their intelligent dogs will never be forgotten.
