The Grove is peaceful and serene, with the breeze sighing above you. It’s much cooler here on those hot summer days, too! It is alongside our long driveway, instead of near the public road. You can see our house from there and a neighbors house is nearby as well. Neither of these are within the “viewscape”, so we know you’ll still love it!

Access the river 200 yards upstream at the public swimming hole.

This site is a "farm site" and is near the neighbors barn and our garden.  Normal farm sounds and smells should be expected.

We had a great visit here! It's a lovely pastoral setting. Pam was a generous host, sharing veggies from the garden and letting our kids visit with her piglets and chickens. Our dog had space to run in the field, and the kids picked blackberries. The facilities were great. We made day trips to hike at Alsea Falls and just down the street to the neighborhood swimming hole pictured in the listing, which was beautiful and fun to explore. Great stars at night!

I had been slightly worried when I saw a couple of recent negative reviews, but we did not have the trouble they mentioned. It is true that the (friendly to us) neighbors have a small farm, including a rooster or two, but the sounds and smells of the farm were mild for us. Really, it was kind of an unexpected bonus, since our 4 year old was fascinated with the big pigs, and both kids loved meeting the kitten!

This was the perfect set up for our group of 5 which included 1 RV and a conversion van. We loved having the privacy under the trees and the open field for morning sun and night time star gazing.
Bill and Pam were kind and they answered our questions promptly.
We had seen earlier reviews so we knew to expect the rooster. We came prepared with earplugs and he didn't bother us. For the international travelers in our group, it felt like being in a village in places we have lived. I spoke with the neighbors and they were a nice family. We could occasionally smell the livestock but it was not pervasive throughout our 3 nights.
We would strongly consider going back next summer.

We were welcomed warmly by Pam upon our arrival. The site was clean and easy to locate. It might be helpful for others to know that directly on the other side of the pictured cedar fence is the neighbor’s house, yard, and livestock. When we arrived at the camping spot, their dogs barked, howled and whined for over an hour. We were told by our hosts that there was nothing that could be done about this. They barked, howled and whined again several other times throughout our stay. At 4:30am the rooster, also directly on the other side of the fence, crowed pretty continuously, as roosters do, until about 9am and then again in the evenings. The kids started playing loudly at 6:15am, a loud atv was driven around their yard at another point. There was some yelling at the animals. When the animals were quiet, this was a peaceful place to camp. However the frequency and uncertainty of when and for how long we would listen to barking, howling, whining, and crowing, plus the neighbors out in their yard makes the campsite description and name (Serenity Cove) misleading and disappointing. It was an unpleasant experience and the hosts were not receptive to resolving the problem.

The Serenity Grove campsite is generous, well shaded, and with a lovely view of the meadow. Bill is a friendly host and it's clear that he enjoys sharing his land with others. Unfortunately, I cannot call it a serene experience. The site is located on the property line and the neighbors keep their hound in a rabbit hutch. The hound howled throughout the night and was joined by a rooster at 4:30 am. To add insult to injury, the neighbors then decided to drag chains on their ATV along the property line so a dust storm of horse manure was kicked up in our direction. We are not sure if they were oblivious to our presence, annoyed by the arrangement, or just plain inconsiderate. We left after the first night because it was so unpleasant. It really is unfortunate because Bill is clearly well intentioned and the site would otherwise be just lovely.

We enjoyed everything about our recent stay at the Grove: very friendly host, extremely peaceful, swimming hole nearby, and occasional horse frolics at the adjacent farm. The Grove came highly recommended by a friend and it lived up to all of our expectations. We look forward to future visits.

First word that comes to mind is QUIET. We saw no other people, even from the farm adjacent to this property. Lots of birds, nice breezes, great sleeping.

Serenity Grove was lovely. Camping among all the trees kept the crazy heat from scorching us. A nice drive to the beach for crabbing, then enjoying the fruits of our labor sitting at our own picnic table. Star gazing at night was amazing, and so still and quiet.
A true farm experience waking up to the resident rooster announcing the day.

Nice quiet get away close to OSU campus, Oregon coast, Alsea Falls and near plenty of parks where you can swim, fish or hike. The camp spot is along the side of their driveway next to the neighbors property line, separated by a fence. On the other side of the fence are chickens, goats, pigs, cows and a turkey. We love animals and our 2 year old really enjoyed looking at the them. I felt as though we had plenty of privacy, the camping area is very large and shaded throughout the entire day. The water is a little bit of a walk or you could drive to the fish hatchery, but is a most do if your camping so close. We would go back again for a nice get away close to home.

We enjoyed our stay at Serenity Grove! The campsite is amongst tall pine trees that kept it shaded and cool. we had a lovely few days of relaxing and enjoying ourselves. Our Hosts were wonderful. They greeted us upon arrival and were there if we had questions or needed anything.
We did the short walk to the Fish Hatchery and saw a bald eagle perched in a tree above.
