Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. Dogs permitted (see rules).

Karoola Riverbend

We had a wonderful time camping by the river. The property is stunning and even though it was busy over Easter, we still did not hear any noise and had a great spot. Would definitely camp here again.

Karoola Riverbend

Beautiful spot along the river. Had a nice and relaxing stay. Entrance to campground was abit steep so might be tricky if it was wet and you didn’t have a 4wd. Our camp spots grass was abit long also so made it difficult for toddlers to walk around, (perfect for the sheep when we left tho). All in all a beautiful spot nice and quiet even on a busy long weekend. Hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with.

Karoola Riverbend

Karoola Station was just what we hoped. Although the river was down a bit, there was still plenty of water flowing. There was roughly 600m of river frontage at the “Riverbend” campsite, so ample room for all the campers who turned out for the Easter long weekend. We had a great spot with easy river access and a bit of a sandy beach, but these spots were limited. It was a beautiful and quiet location, even full of others campers. We met Sheryl the evening of check-in day and she was lovely. Such a great spot, we’ll definitely be back!
