We are a "farm stay" style camp in an actively managed pine forest located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. There is lots of space for campers so you will have privacy whilst you enjoy your camping adventure.Our property is conveniently located just 5 mins off the Pacific Highway but a world away. You'll be 2 mins away from Pindimar Beach and 11 mins from Bennetts beach and Jimmy's beach. Good fishing pretty much everywhere you can wet a line. We have clean flush toilets and showers facilities. The campsite has good Mobile Phone Signal. Free firewood. Each campsite has its own fire pit. Pets are welcome, but please pick up after them. We have a gentle and well trained German Shepherd who adores kids but she likes to stay inside the house and doesn't wander around the campsites . Important Note: PLEASE PUT OUT YOUR CAMPFIRE WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR CAMPSITE TO AVOID STARTING A BUSH FIRE. NO LOUD MUSIC AFTER 10:00 PM. IF You Have more than 1 camper trailer or caravan or more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. Please note this property is a working private pine forest. Therefore, as and when the weather is right we could be, logging the forest, milling the logs, or drying the large dimension traditional timber framing lumber. In the near future we will be running sustainable building classes from the property. i.e. showing people how to economically build their own tiny homes using timber sourced from their own land.We are located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby or 1 hour north of Newcastle. There is lots of space for campers so you will have privacy whilst you enjoy your camping adventure. Our property is conveniently located just 5 mins off the Pacific Highway but a world away. You'll be 2 mins away from great swimming places and 11 mins from surf beaches. Check out the beach or go kite surfing. Bring your kayak or stand up paddle board. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping shower and drinking water supply. That said there is drinking water onsite and There are rubbish and recycling facilities available, however if you have large quantities of rubbish, you can take it to the recycling centre in town. The National Park is about 20 mins from here but you can also take your bike for spin on our local road as it's a dead end road and has no traffic. For those who are into stargazing we have a particularly good location with no light contamination from cities, industry or neighbours. Combined with being on top of a hill we have 180 degree view of the night sky. Bring your telescope and you will be blown away. For down to earth practicalities It's a quick drive to tea gardens to Coles and solo to get any camping supplies. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Please pick up after them. Free firewood.

Fame Mountain Camp

Excellent camping close to Newy

We enjoyed our two night stay at Fame Mountain Camp. The view really is spectacular. The fire pit at each site, fully stocked with wood and an axe, plus at ours a hot plate and grill to cook over the fire, were very welcome. Each site also has a large dining table and chairs, which was random but actually super helpful. The giant trampoline kept the kids entertained. There are no trees near the site itself so I’m glad we had our gazebo, the sun was baking during the day. We drove to nearby Pindimar in the morning (5 min drive) and in the afternoon to the surf beach at Hawks Nest (about 20 minutes). John was very friendly and helpful and came around several times to check everything was ok. I would stay again for sure.

Campsite that feels like

Mei is such a wonderful host who goes above and beyond to make her guests feel at home! The property itself is stunning, with amazing views and beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Provided firewood and incredible amenities! She was so kind to us and checked in when the weather got bad. Close to the beach and a lovely spot to explore. Will definitely be back again.

Camping under the stars

We had a fantastic stay! Mei is absolutely lovely. We especially enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the firepit and the kids had a great time playing on the trampoline and swings. The view was outstanding and we felt safe and sound. Some of the extra touches on the property made it feel relaxing and it was a great experience.
