The legacy of Santa Fe Tree House Camp includes rustic tree house style cabins. The original creators of the camp wanted to make a safe place for children to enjoy the outdoors. Now, these tree houses are available for family and adult reservations to relive the childlike wonder of sleeping amidst the trees.

There are 6 treehouse structures of various distance from the outdoor kitchen and bathhouse.

We provide mattresses with mattress covers, you need to bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows or sleeping bags as well as towels and toiletries. If you are traveling without these items let us know ahead of time and we may be able to offer these for a fee.

These structures are all raised from the ground (not high up in the top of trees) with openings for windows (no glass), and nestled amid the trunks and branches of ponderosa, piñon, and juniper trees. There are no heaters or air conditioning so please bring warm clothes and bedding for your comfort.

The 3 Pegasus tree houses are closest to the outdoor kitchen with  community fridges, stove, toaster oven, microwave, propane grill, blender, coffee maker (bring your own ground coffee), plates, bowls, cooking and eating utensils.  The area has a communal fire pit and benches. These treehouses would be ideal for families and groups of friends wanting to stay close together and near the bathrooms. There is electricity here.

NOTE:  Pegasus # 2  has 2 hanging cots that are appropriate for smaller people who don't move too much in their sleep. There are two low frame beds beneath the hanging cots and one regular height double bed.

NOTE: Pegasus #3 has a short ladder to climb to enter.

The 3 Tecolote tree houses are slightly further from the outdoor kitchen and bathhouse and a bit further apart from one another (than Pegasus treehouses) with the most tree cover for privacy. There is a communal, designated fire pit and stunning views of the mountains. Within a comfortable walking distance (5 minutes) from the bath house. There is no electricity at the Tecolote sites.

NOTE: Tecolote 3  has a small ladder to climb to enter.

The camp is located about 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, Old Town Santa Fe Plaza and just 15 minutes to delicious food at Harry's Roadhouse or Cafe Fina.   Tree House Camp includes 160 acres of land bordering the US Forest Service area. There are beautiful views and easy access to Shaggy Peak, the  southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 20 minute hike to a creek in the forest or climb up Shaggy Peak (about 2-7 hours round trip hiking, depending on your activity level).

NOTE: We are up a 2 mile dirt road with some hills and bumps. We are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy in early spring, late fall and winter, and rutted due to rains in the summer. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires.

----------------------

To maintain the tranquility of our guests stays we are taking these steps to curb late arrivals.

Since the camp is quite dark at night and site locations are spread out throughout the land we recommend you consider arriving while it is still light out. It makes locating us easier and you will get to experience our beautiful sunsets and have more time to enjoy this enchanted hilltop!

Checkin times are 4-8PM Spring, Fall and Winter and 4:00-9:45pm in Summer.

Quiet hours are 10PM-8AM.

Please do not come before 4pm without prior permission.

Once you have located your site you are welcome to leave and come back after the normal check in time without a fee but please be as quiet as possible.

Contact us asap if you need a late checkin and keep us notified of your changing ETA. A $20 late fee will be charged.

If you are much later than described we have the right to refuse entry without a refund, or place you in a site we feel will be the least obtrusive to other guests.

We loved the ease of booking and setting up in one of the treehouses for a quick overnight stay on a road trip!

The treehouses are pretty authentic! We needed an overnight place to rest for the night and this place was perfect and accommodating with a very last minute notice. Would love to come back for tent camping.

Wonderful and thoughtful hosts. Quiet location and clean facilities. While only there a short time, we would like to travel back when we have more time to explore the area.

The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and very functional. It was nice cooking and eating out in the dark under lights

It was also very quiet and the tree house was very clean and comfortable.

This is a really special spot. Adjacent to some national forest land. I could really see the Milky Way like I don’t get to do back east. The cabins are decent. They could use a chair or two and not so many beds. The bathrooms are super clean. Overall a great place to sleep for a few nights.

Treehouses is a great hook! Granted they are just about 5’ off the ground but cool nonetheless. Very comfortable, bathrooms are fine, kitchen area well equipped. Would recommend.

We loved the Treehouse. It’s a treehouse, not a cabin, which is exactly what we expected. A larger bed than our tent mattress, so it was perfect. The grounds are so well kept by Brad and Ciana, everything was clean and worked perfectly. We loved the cookhouse concept, where we met wonderful people with great stories.. A nice quick hike one morning to the waterfall, (a bit of flow in September), before heading out for the easy drive into town, (20’ish min). We highly recommend!

We loved our short stay at Santa Fe Treehouse Camp! The treehouse was so fun for our actual children as well as the adults' "inner children." Secluded enough for privacy but with well-appointed public spaces where we could meet and interact with other campers. The outdoor kitchen was a lovely surprise: stove, microwave, refrigerator, running water, grill, coffee maker, all the utensils. In mid-September, in dry weather, the dirt road was not too tough for our 4-door sedan, but in worse weather I think I'd need a truck. We plan to return :)
