Description

Smack dab in the middle of the Kancamagus Scenic Highway, this heavily wooded campground is a great place to set up camp. Because there aren’t a ton of amenities here, it tends to stay pretty quiet, which is great news for campers seeking calm. Try to grab one of the streamside campsites, particularly 21 and 23… because we all know that there’s nothing quite like falling asleep to the sounds of water. If you want to get out of camp, take a nice stroll along the 1.6 mile hiking trail (Church Pond Trail.) It’s a pleasant way to spend some time enjoying the fresh air, that’s for sure!

Passaconaway is a great place to camp along the Kancamagus Highway. We opted to stay here over Jigger Johnson as it was less populated and quieter. There were lots of available sites in mid-September. There are no showers but we showered at the nearby Jigger Johnson campground. Great access to a few hiking trails by foot. If you are traveling through Conway, stop at the Sweet Maple Cafe for breakfast or lunch.
