Hancock Campground is my go-to camp spot in the white mountains in the spring and fall. This is one of the few White Mountain campgrounds that is open year round so It is perfect for early spring or late fall when most of the other sites are closed. There are two wings to the campground: one side for tents (common car parking lot) and one for car/van camping. This gives the campground more privacy and with the Pemigewasset river running right along the back, its easy to forget that there is anyone else around.

I sometimes refer to Hancock Campground as my home away from home. I hike in the White Mountains often and Hancock is open year round. The sites with space for a car are a little crowded and close to the Kancamagus Highway, but the walk-to sites beside the Pemigewasset River are amazing. The town of Lincoln and Loon Mountain ski resort are close by. Lincoln Woods Visitor Center, a major access point for hiking some of New Hampshire's most beautiful mountains, is just across the highway.

Hancock campground is conveniently close to Lincoln. The tent area shares a communal parking lot and the sites are walk-in. The loop is mainly flat and can cater to tents and RV's. It's very popular with families, and can get noisy at times.
