Right in the heart of the Thompson Chain of Lakes in Montana’s Kootenai National Forest, you’ll discover the pristine McGregor Lake Campground along Highway 2. This collection of campsites has a little bit to offer for everyone from RV-lovers to tent-camping aficionados, all nestled up right on the banks of the west end of McGregor Lake (the largest lake in the Kootenai area). As far as activities go, you can really find anything that floats your boat here, whether it be fishing for trophy-size trout, water skiing, lake swimming, hiking, or even huckleberry picking!
