Description
Huntersville State Forest is a pretty fantastic alternative to the popular Itasca State Park, so be sure to head this way to seek out some serenity in the woods. This primitive campground makes for a pretty rad base camp for further explorations of the area, and if you love the implications of the word “rustic,” you’ll be totally down to camp here. The campground is right on the Shell River, with easy breezy access to the Crow Wing River Water Trail. If paddling sounds like a pain, then consider going for a swim, fishing, or participating in some hardcore lounging. It’s a tough sport, but we have faith in your relaxation game, especially when the environment is so conducive to kicking back.
