Help & assistance, extraordinary. We (my partner & 3 dogs) are novice outdoors men, Dennis and his crew made up for all we forgot! I asked for a drive thru site and was taken care of.

What a great camping experience! Spent 3 nights there in late Sept. and had the best time. We were the only people there so we got to look at all the sites; they are all great, with trees, picnic tables and fire pits. The $20 bundle of wood was a deal! Port-a potties had little lights in them:) Dennis was very kind & helpful. I’m planning to go back for sure.

The campsite is great. Dennis put me and my friend at the end of the campsite, we really enjoyed our privacy there. It’s on top of a hill, view is gorgeous. We also off leash our dog, he was very happy. Firewoods are available at the site as well. Also, there is garbage disposal! Just noted that it’s a clothes optional campsite. But we don’t have anyone around us so we did not bothered by that.

best kept secret in wisconsin!
it's not so much the "clothing optional" that drew us in as much as the "we wanna spend time with the type of folks that are cool with clothing optional..."- and we were not disappointed. up arrival, dennis recommended a site with cover as rain was expected- so thoughtful! as we pulled up, a couple (regulars at the campground) greeted us and told us all about the history and vibe of the place- they were amongst the kindest strangers we've met camping- you could just tell how special this place is by the look in their eyes. it was 60° and pouring for the duration of our stay, so most of us kept to ourselves and pretty close to our own sites. as for the grounds: absolutely gorgeous. we set up on the hilltop which would no doubt lend itself to spectacular sun rises and sets, had the weather allowed. we hiked down to the valley and were equally impressed with the privacy of the sites below. really hope to spend more time here in the future: the sites were well maintained, the location was ethereal, and the company was A+. would absolutely recommend!

Happy vibes
Our site was beautiful, clean, and the community was super friendly! You can tell this place is definitely a safe and joyous space for many of the regulars. We stayed just one night after reserving two, but that was not because of the site.

Not happy overall! We left a day early based off of site location. We were looking for something in the valley but that was never an option. The site we had was not private like we hoped it would be wouldn't recommend. Not for a married couple just wanting to chill and relax. If your looking for a loud and rated r campground then this is for you. Based on previous reviews I thought host would have navigated to sites better.
Also paid extra for wood and it took 4 hours to get it!

Mellow scene and nice folks
On Labor Day weekend, the place was full - of very chill and fun, and mostly naked and gay folks. If you are comfortable in this scene, it is a nice place to camp. We were just there for a day on a x-country drive and felt totally welcome. (We were neither naked nor gay, and no one cared either way). There are a few trails down to a separate camping area in the valley. A great morning walk with my pup and a chance to see more of the countryside. Make sure you can recognize Poison Ivy if you hike off the trails.
Port-a-pots and bathoom/shower building were really clean even on Sunday morning of a ‘party weekend.’ A $1 shower was longer than I needed or wanted. Nice.
Many of sites were nicely private and tucked away. A few were pretty narrow, including ours - with friendly folks on both sides.

High quality tent camping!
Wow. Just. Wow. This was possibly the most idyllic and beautiful campsite I’ve ever stayed at, in a lifetime of tent camping. Dennis (the owner/host) is fantastic: so helpful and kind. The residents are friendly and obviously care greatly about the property. Facilities are in nice condition, with lots of amenities (darts, ping pong, pool table!) and beautiful wooded trails. We never wanted to leave. Clothing optional and LGBT+friendly was a super-plus-ultra bonus! :))

Fun in the sun
The owner, Dennis, was very friendly and his staff was very helpful. The view from the tent camping area was amazing. The other campers there were extremely friendly. I came by myself and left with several new friends.
Besides that there was no running water in the tent area and the showers, which were available in the RV area, were difficult to get working. I'll definitely be coming back.

Dennis is an amazing owner! He checked in on us multiple times to make sure we had wood and ice. The property is very spread out with some fun hiking trails from the bluff down to the valley.

Had 3 nights reserved and tested positive for covid the night before. Reached out to owner to see what he would be willing to do for us since we definitely couldn’t make it. He never responded back to us and left us hanging.

Great campsite
Camp was great. It is in between governors dodge state park and devil's lake and is the perfect place to set up camp for the weekend if you want to go to both. Also the bathrooms were well kept and the staff are friendly.

The upper campground is social, and you’re isolated in the valley- we stayed in the valley, which was peaceful and serene. Lots of mosquitos though.

This was my first booking with hipcamp and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Dennis was friendly, gave me the lay of the land. Let me know where to meet up with others but at the same time let me know if I didn't want to hang out that was just as cool. The PORTAPOTTIES!! The one near my campsite did not smell at all and had plenty of toilet paper! That never happens. So peaceful and I saw fireflies for the first time since I was a kid. I'd definitely go back if it was closer. I may be making a trip out that way again and if I do,this is where I'd stay.
