Everything was great! Best experience was spending our time with Rolex and Muffin! Both were such a lovely dog and love some good cuddles. The horses were also amazing. Owner was chill and was very helpful when we needed help with our fire pit.

Aggressive host & annoying dogs

When I read previous reviews I thought the campers were just "those kind of people" that complain. But... the reviews are accurate. The host did not respond to enquiries prior to booking and did not answer his phone upon arrival. His dogs were large and pushy, way too interested in our dog making her feel uncomfortable and wouldn't listen to instructions to go away. One of them also kept biting my daughters jumper sleeve and trying to pull her with it. We had to put our dog (and daughter) back in the car while we went to find the host. When we finally found him he was upset that we were bothering him as he was working on a car. He questioned me and told me he didn't believe the dogs were a problem. He then walked over to my wife and son, and in a confrontational way asking them to verify what I was saying (as if I was making it up) and said if the dogs were aggressive he would shoot them. We were simply asking if there was a yard he could keep the dogs in as they were clearly not able to be instructed, were annoying, and made us all feel uncomfortable. The host was swearing alot and just unwilling to help. After the confrontational interaction we decided that we weren't comfortable to stay so we left. For the record we love dogs, big small whatever, we're not those people. But if dogs won't listen, they should be monitored by the owner. If the owner won't listen either, well then it's a problem. Luckily we found a much nicer hipcamp 30mins away at short notice.

Lovely way to spend our anniversary

We arrived around ~6pm, Dale was still working at his shed and opened the gates for us as we were unsure if we could just head in straight. He was very pleasant and accomodating, lovely dude tbh! He prepared our firepit while we set up our awning and tent which really helped keep us warm. We were also greeted by his lovely horses at the entrance!! They were so beautiful and calm + the sheep who thinks it's a horse!! Then we met his 1 year old and few months, baby doggos. Big babies. Rolex and Muffin! They were super duper friendly, and Rolex is a damn heavy baby! We brought along our 13 year old almost 14 year old shih-tzu, baby girl Cheeky. The 3 of them slowly met each other and then gotten used to each other's presence and they were able to just lounge around and enjoy the day. They were both very careful with my senior girl, I think they knew she was an oldie girly..Sad to hear that one family who arrived on our 2nd day turned back because they called Dale's doggos "viscious". Me and my fiancé were like "where?" Haha. Other than that, lovely relaxing place to stay, toilet located at Dale's shed and plenty of space to chose where you want to camp. Ofc you're in the horses paddock so if you're picky about horse shit, go somewhere else (we weren't 🤪). Thank you again, Dale! We would gladly come back again & invite our parents and family next time. We miss Rolex and Muffin already!!

I'm unsure how this camp-site has so many good reviews. It was really uncomfortable. The "hilltop haven" was a mound of sand. The property was a junk yard, and getting to the toilets felt like something out of a horror movie. I'm so glad I decided last minute not to bring my dog. Their dog was jumping on the kids, knocking them over, tried to hump us so many times. We had to put our 3 year old in the car multiple times because we felt it wasn't safe. The dog bit one of the horses, then the owner kicked the dog and swung it by it's tail. We were woken at 5.30am by 3 horses standing on our tent, and throwing our things around the site. The horses tried biting us three times as we tried to pack up. We had to hide our child in the car while we packed up, and had to go elsewhere to cook breakfast. The horses were raiding the other campsites too. The campsites we so close together, the property was small and there were long term campers staying their too. We spoke to the other overnight campers who said they also felt very uncomfortable, and were considering leaving. It was definitely an adventure we won't forget any time soon. If you're wanting a relaxing camp-site, this isn't the place to go.

A lovely stay with the horses and sheep on the paddock. We loved watching them and what they were up to. Dale is a great host and allowed us a late checkout and kindly set up a fire for us. Highly recommended!

Great Getaway

We camped here for 2 nights and it was fantastic. The horses graze around your set up, and the friendly two dogs Rolex and Muffin love some good pats. They really kept us good company. There is also a sheep who follows around the horses, and I think it thinks it’s a horse! I came here a bit hesitant of the horses as I had never been around them before, but left loving them being around them. Dale is so informative and is a true horseman. A very kind host, be sure to ask him about the different horses and how he works them. He has a lot of knowledge. Only 30 mins outside of Perth it’s a great getaway! Some pubs and restaurants within a 15 minute walk which was great too!

Dale is such a lovely person, ready to help and always checking on the needs of the campers for firewood and others . The place is very peaceful, great spot to stay a few days or just to reset. I highly recommend this campsite.

Was such a nice little get away! Loved the horses, dogs and hospitality from Dale and his family. The horses and dogs were super friendly and kept me company throughout the stay. I also learnt a lot about horses from Dale. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Had a great time with my kids here. Dale was a great host, took the time to introduce the kids to all the animals, gave us a run down on the place, assisted with the fire and gave us a few good laughs. Highly recommend for a little getaway close to the city to let the kids run free on the paddock with the animals

I had the most amazing time! I visited with my sister who came to Australia and loves horses, and we were both truly so happy during our stay. If you love horses, this is definitely a place you must visit. Not only the horses, but there are also two lovely dogs and an adorable sheep, which made the experience even more special. I would absolutely love to come back, and it was a camping experience I will never forget. Thank you so much for taking such great care of us, Dale!

We loved camping at everything horses, we had a beautiful spot under tree. other campers on site but didnt notice them. Dale was very friendly. Our son loved it, we loved it.

Nice quiet place to relax. The horses are the added bonus, my kids were crazy about them. Dale was very welcoming and very friendly, and happy to have a chat with us when we went to the sheds. He has 2beautiful dogs rolex (cheeky but cuke one) and muffin (the gentle soul) my dog has lots of fun playing with them. Thanks Dale we will visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

My partner and I loved staying here, we even booked an unplanned extra night. Rolex and Muffin are so cute, and so are the horses. Sure, you have to be able to adapt to a rudimentary shower and a shared toilet, but if you can go past the appearance you will find yourself falling in love with a simple lifestyle and a welcoming place. Dale is just an amazing human too!

Peaceful Paddock!

This property truly is peaceful. We were welcomed at the paddock gate by one of the beautiful, friendly resident dogs, so we were delighted from the start. It was very warm, but we found a lovely big tree for shade, in the very large paddock. The horses in the paddock were very friendly and gentle, and our puppy had a wonderful time making friends with the 2 affectionate dogs. Dale and his dad were very easy going and welcoming too, and made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back!

It was a very convenient location for visiting the Swan valley. It was also very quiet, only some noise from planes but not disruptive to us. Plenty of space. 2 very friendly dogs and the horses were lovely to be around. Some shade and a few places to sit. Simple but perfect for us.

We found an easy-to-park spot in the shade, and it was great to have a shower and toilet close by. We walked to the Bailey Brewery, which is about 15 minutes away. We will be back.

Everything the toilet was right near where the man watched tv and spoke to you the entire time, the dog ripped open the tent and chewed our things up, the host did nothing to make our stay pleasent and he yelled at our kids for walking up to the only toilet.

Not happy with the camping sites.. Dod not look like the photos on the sites. We were two different families camping ... both left within an hour. There were people packing a container which made us feel uncomfortable.. Looking for a relaxing weekend away and it wasn't. Had to find different accommodation so the weekend cost me double.
