I appreciated every little thoughtfully placed and prepared detail of this cabin! Like the title says, it’s got everything you need— and more. The only mistake I made was not booking a longer stay! I will without a doubt be back and truly can’t wait to return. The views, the solitude, the cozy vibes. Worth every penny.

This place is glamping at its absolute best. It has everything you need and more, yet you feel at one with nature. My wife and I stayed for one night with the idea of shutting away from technology for the weekend and boy did it deliver. We ended up enjoying the view and just talking all night while listening to the rain. If you need a break from the real world, this is 100% the place to go. A huge thank you to the owner.

This place is awesome! Dawson has done an amazing job with creating the space. It has everything you could need!
You can really tell a lot of thought has gone into the place and a lot of work has been involved. We had the best time and were so cozy together. We were lucky to have rain over night and it was so peaceful listening to the rain on the roof as we fell asleep.
The directions provided made it very easy to find and a couple of wagons and a lantern are available to help you get your things out to the cabin.
As we came in November, we didn’t get the opportunity to use the outdoor space. But we still braved using the shower and it’s worth it, so toasty and incredible views!
Inside is cozy and comfortable. The kitchenette has everything you could need. That bed though! So comfy, as someone who deals with chronic pain, I really appreciate how comfortable the bed is!
It was really nice to get off grid a little and put our phones away for the night.
We had such a good time we are definitely looking to come back again next year in the summer hopefully!
If you get the chance to stay here, do it!

Nice place! Wish there were a few little path lights. The ridge was a bit challenging to see when we arrived late on the first night. Clean and new space otherwise. Views are pretty.

Beautiful, relaxing, spot. We happily spent the evening looking out at the landscape view with a fire. The partially open air shower is very cool! Dawson was very communicative and welcoming.

Had the best time solo traveling and exploring the PNW. This place was amazing and very quiet and private. Very close to Mt. Rainer and had phone service which was a plus. I look forward to coming back (:

We loved our stay at the cabin! We stayed here while visiting Mt Rainier and it was such a cool spot to hang out after a day of hiking. The shower was amazing in my opinion, it was the perfect temp and it was a cool experience showering outside w/ a view (FL girl). The setup of the cabin was very thoughtful so we had everything we needed for our stay and although there is a host on the property we felt that we still had a lot of privacy. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone wanting a cozy get away near the mountains!

I cannot recommend this place enough. So, so, so, beautiful and romantic! Easily one of the best parts were the views from the cabin. From the outdoor toilet/shower to the patio- you won’t be disappointed with your surroundings. The host provided clear & helpful instructions for arrival. Inside we found some recommendations for different local spots to visit (eateries, hikes, lakes/beaches, and more) - which I thought was very thoughtful & a lovely touch!

I had the BEST time at this cabin. It felt secluded, but secure and was the perfect home base after a long day hiking Tahoma (Mt. Rainier). Dawson and Gabrielle were the most amazing hosts. I had everything I needed for this solo adventure with them. A highlight was the netted outdoor hot shower created with filtered rain water— it got warm very quickly and oh those views!! If you crave peace with creature comforts, this is the place to book! Can’t wait to bring a friend next time, so they can also enjoy this little piece of serenity.

I loved everything about this off-grid cabin on Dawson's land. It matched the host's description perfectly and felt so private and cozy. Finding the location was super simple due to the host's great communication! The shower is a truly cool feature, and the small hike to the cabin was honestly really scenic and enjoyable. The view from the deck is fantastic. We had an amazing time and would rent this again 100% when we are back in the area.

This was a great HipCamp experience! Dawson had thought of everything you could need and the space was beautiful. We especially loved the outdoor shower and porch! Super close to the park’s Nisqually River entrance. The GPS will lead you astray but Dawson’s emailed instructions were clear.

The quiet cabin overlooking the forest was lovely and serene with included fire pit out on the deck. Can’t say enough about the hot rain shower with the same views outside. It’s a tad difficult to find but once you do get there it’s an off grid peaceful place to spend a night away

Dawson and Gabrielle were fantastic hosts, and the cabin was perfect for our short trip. It felt private, comfortable and safe, and we appreciated the small touches and recommendations (the lake access from cemetery rd was fantastic!). Highly recommend this spot.

My stay at Alder Grove Retreat was a great experience. Dawson was a communicative host, providing clear instructions prior to arrival. The cabin is a short walk from where you park your car with great views. The place felt very secluded despite not being too far off the road. It felt very private, and you had all the essentials like a kitchen with appliances, hot water, a composting toilet and electricity, while still being out in nature, "camping". I would definitely stay here again as it was not too far of a drive from Portland, you're very close to a nearby town if you need to go to town for some reason, drivable to hikes and bodies of water. Highly recommend!

I had a pleasant experience at Alder Grove!! First of all, the location is PERFECT if you are going to Mt Rainier. I had service at this off grid hipcamp and showering outdoors was an experience I never thought I would have but here we are. I think that if you are a minimalist and don’t mind the small space, i recommend this space. My partner and I hung out on the couch and also on the patio and the views are immaculate! Thank you again Dawson!

Loved this alder grove retreat! The cabin is small and cozy, tucked away in the forest for privacy. The compost toilet and outdoor shower were awesome. We loved listening to the birds and loved being close to the lake. Didn’t get to explore Mt. Rainier this time around, but plan to revisit and do so next time. Dawson was very responsive and helpful!

Great location with good kayaking on Alder lake extremely close by and great hiking in Mt.Rainier National Park not too far away. The cabin was very cozy and private with a great mix of creature comforts(hot shower, electricity) while keeping nature front and center without distractions like TVs. I'll definitely keep it in mind for future trips to this area.

The tiny cabin was super cozy and well equipped with everything I needed. It was easy to navigate to and is conveniently located by the SW entrance to Mt Rainier National Park. I was disappointed though that despite being in a totally serene location in the beautiful alder woods, I could hear dog(s) barking in the close-ish distance for several hours of each day. It made it unpleasant to sit out on the patio or even to have the windows open. I know this probably isn't the hosts fault, but I would not recommend to other visitors looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway. If you are just looking for a private and affordable place to crash after a day of hiking though, then I'd recommend!

Eagle View Off-Grid Cabin
We loved this cabin! The views were incredible and we were so cozy and comfy. Dawson and Gabrielle were very welcoming and kind. They have such a great set up in the cabin and I will definitely be looking to book this cabin again on my next trip to Washington :)

The sunset from the property was so beautiful. Dawson had set up the fire in the stove to be so easy to start for the sauna. We loved being able to bask in the warmth of the sauna then cold plunge into the rain water shower just outside of the sauna. It was great to have the compostable toilet attached to the cabin. We loved the setup.
