RELAX and unwind on our peaceful, secluded 22 acre North Welsh mountain smallholding. Enjoy all the comforts, conveniences and quirks of staying in a touring caravan, plus bonus lounge room with log burner. Near the village of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Pen Y Banc is reached by driving through a section of Clocaenog forest. This adults only retreat (25yrs +) for couples, is light and airy, with a super comfy super king bed. Located in a wildflower meadow, with outdoor seating & bbq/firepit available to hire. Close to all the adventure that North Wales offers, the perfect spot to get away from it all and connect with nature. We are striving to become self sustainable and off grid and we have growing spaces & greenhouses for fruit and veg plus an orchard. Seasonal produce may be available to buy during your stay if we are having good crops.Situated near the village of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Pen Y Banc is an adult only site (25yrs +) reached by driving through a section of the Cloceanog forest. Passing through the gates, the vista opens, showcasing the glorious valley views. Our secluded (aiming to be self sufficient) smallholding is set in 22 acres of rugged Welsh countryside, including woodland, streams, ponds and river boundary – most of which you are welcome to explore. We are on the edge of the 100km² Clocaenog forest, which offers miles of trails to explore on foot or mountain bike. The caravan is set away from our house, situated by itself in one of our wildflower meadows. It has its own private entrance from the driveway and outdoor seating area with comfortable sun loungers. A firepit and /or bbq are available to hire with logs provided, however we may restrict use in very dry conditions. The caravan has been fully refurbished and is now fully off grid thanks to our substantial solar array. It features a kitchen with cooker, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer, plus all crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. We also provide tea, coffee, sugar and a few other basics. It has a super comfy super king sized bed, all linens provided, it's own shower, towels provided and a cassette style toilet. The original lounge/diner features a tv to use as a DVD player and there are lots of films, books and games. The new lounge room provides masses of additional space to relax in, plus a cosy log burner. Although secluded and peaceful, you are not totally remote, with a pub just a mile away and well stocked village shop about 10 mins by car. Seasonal produce may be available to buy during your stay. We are a zero waste site and request that all waste is taken away with you. We are close to Ruthin, Bala, plus Llyn Brenig and Llyn Alwen for walks or sailing/watersports. Being 3 miles from the A5 means that you have Betws y Coed, Llanberis (Snowdon), Llangollen and on the coast Porthmadog and Barmouth, about an hour’s drive away. Even Anglesey can be reached in little over an hour. For the more adventurous we are approx 30 mins to Zip World and Surf Snowdonia. and just 25mins from the National White Water Centre in Bala. This makes us a perfect base for exploring North Wales. Our site is also a haven for local wildlife. We regularly see buzzards and red kites along with a diverse collection of smaller birds, butterflies and the occasional fox. We are on the journey to becoming a livestock free, self sufficient smallholding, with plans for alternative energy creation and seasonal fruit and veg production for local people. We’re in the process of turning grazing fields to wildflower meadow (in preparation for supporting beehives), increasing woodland, adding ponds and creating an even richer wildlife habitat. Our dark skies also make us a perfect spot for enjoying the amazing stars at night. We have our own labrador called Pilot, who is extremely friendly but can be vocal when meeting new people. I'm afraid we cannot currently accept guests dogs.
