Orchard Yurt

We arrived on the 3rd of August at apple camping. The place looks amazing, however for us it appeared that the orgchard yurt was damaged by storms and thus removed and we were downgraded to a tent (downgraded in terms of service not in terms of price). The tent was not at the expected standard, more than the third of the floor was wet, there was no stove, no personal kitchen nor toilets in a box near to the tent as it was depicted in the website, there was mold and some parts were torn. I re-tightened the tensioners, some of which were in the brambles. Hopefully, the personnel managing (doing check in, laundry and so on) the site were very nice and sorry for us & proposed us to sleep in the tent only 1 night and then use another unit onwards until our departure on 8th of Aug. They were very nice to us. I am not happy as this could have been avoided thanks to an earlier communication, I am expecting a commercial gesture (and that Hipcamp stops selling a unit which does not exist anymore). I have taken pictures if you need more details. The second unit was OK (some leaks on heavy rain and it seems an animal ate some of our food when we were out, but the rest was quite ok) . we tried to exchange with Jacob (the owner) through Hipcamp chat system, and we got absolutely no answer.

Excellent idea, well organised camp-site. Kids love this kind of thing, always enjoy to stay in a tent. We had a quite intense storm overnight, but the tent provided a calm and enjoyable night. The beds are super-comfy.

Arabian Nights fun on Airbus A319

AirBus Plane!

We were a group of four – two of us work in aviation, and it was more fun than we imagined. Wolff was very welcoming, and showed us around the other pitches, which also looked fun. We loved staying in the rear half of an ex-Etihad A319 with original galley, trollies and other amenities like oxygen masks, inflight materials, and the overhead lockers provided space to store luggage. We liked the other aviation themes around the site: winglets, engine hush kits, wing flaps. The only problem we had was fixed in 5 minutes – the hot water wasn’t working, but Wolff sorted it immediately. It was a wet weekend, but Tenby is just 10 minutes down the road with plenty to do. We saw lots of seals on a boat trip round Caldey Island. It’s the most expensive pitch at Apple, but the Airbus has lots of room, its own toilet, shower, private garden, parking, inside and outside dining areas. You can use the window blinds and blackout curtains to keep the sunrise out. The shower leaked into the cabin but a towel was provided to reduce the leaking. There was a barbeque, but it was too dirty to use so we ate out. The couple who slept on the sofabed said it was so uncomfortable that they slept on the floor. This was a birthday present, and I might stay again if those things were fixed, and if there were somewhere to hang wet towels – we ended up hanging them from the overhead lockers. Otherwise if there were just two of us, we might try the Jetstar next time. Recommended for anyone who loves planes!

Despite the wild Welsh weather, we had so much fun in the Pac-Man Dome. The whole setup is so cool and cruisy. Hosts Wolfe and Toby couldn’t do more to make you welcome and comfortable. There is a UFO and Airbus Airliner there were lucky enough to get a tour of. My two boys thought they were so lucky to have the Pac-Man Dome as we were rained in. Complete with an arcade retro game console and mood lights. It was every kid and nerd dad's dream. All the comforts of a fully equipped private kitchen, toilet, and wood fire in the dome to keep us warm. 100% recommend this for families.

The Witch's Hat

Lovely quirky place. We were pleasantly surprised that we got our own cooking and toilet/shower facilities next to the hut we stayed in. One of the upper bunk beds cannot really fit an adult but a small child and I feel there should be more bedside protection preventing people from falling off. Otherwise all good.

Lunar Bell Tent 2 Located in separate field

Very sorry, but we stayed an hour and then went away to discuss, came back and then left., it was too bad for us to stay. The tent was extremely dirty (someone had left behind dirty underwear and an even dirtier teddy bear) so on that assumption I can only assume it wasn't clean, the roof inside the tent was mouldy and black, and there were ants all over the entrance way. The shared facilities of the kitchen and toilets were no better. Only thing the camp host/guy could say was could we move our car for other people to arrive, so we did, we left.

We were greeted on arrival by Wolf who was lovely, we liked that here was a coded gate on entry .We loved the tent, the tent, bathroom & kitchen area were all very clean and tidy.The double bed was comfortable but the x2 small sofa beds were a bit too small for the two teenagers we had with us. It was nice to have a log burner and provided with logs for this. We had a little trouble locking the bathroom and tent door as they were both a bit stiff (due to weathering) A microwave would she been useful but not essential, we’d stay again in a different tent to experience a different one as they all looked ace!

Glamping with a difference

AirBus Plane!

Stayed in the airbus znx it was everything we hoped itvwoukd be. Full if novelties. Booked it as a surprise for my husbands 60th birthday and he loved it. Very cosy. Campsite lovely and peaceful. Son and girlfriend stayed in the submarine . Brilliant . Great little touches throughout. Would definitely go again.

A fantastic, quirky campsite!

Lunar Bell Tent in a separate field

We loved our stay at Apple Camping! The Lunar Bell Tent was spacious and comfortable, everything was made available to us, including a kitchen area and BBQ, and we even enjoyed a fire pit one evening. The campsite is located a short drive from lots of great beaches, as well as the town of Tenby, which was fantastic when we wanted to eat out. Toby was an excellent host, just a message away if ever we needed anything.

The Apple Express

We loved the quirky Apple Express with its own shower and toilet facilities. The TV was also a welcome surprise. We were lucky to have beautiful sunny weather which made the train rather hot at the end of the day. The site is peaceful and family friendly. Wolf is a great help when required. We had our nearly 3 year old grandson and we visited Dinosaur Park and Manor Wildlife Park, which were both brilliant fun and very worth the entrance fee. The Witch's Hat

Apple camping was fabulous! It was such a quiet, tranquil and picturesque site with fabulous, quirky accommodation! We stayed in the witches hut-2 adults,2 kids and 2 dogs and had plenty of room. Everything was clean and we had our own kitchen hut and shower hut. We’d definitely stay again- next time in the ufo!

AirBus Plane!

An experience booked in an Etihad Airbus for two nights for my hubby’s birthday ! Awesome is the word I would use! Everything you need was provided and it has created a great memory to take home. Great service from Wolfe too who welcomed us and showed us around the campsite!

We stayed in the Jet Star for 2 nights, we had not told our two children about and surprised them when we arrived, they were so shocked and excited! They did not stop smiling from the minute we arrived. Such an amazing experience. Well recommend if you want something a little bit different.

We have an amazing time staying in the space ship! Me my partner and our dog loved it! Very clean communal showers and kitchen facilities! The space ship lights were lovely at night the stars really felt like space! Toby was at hand for anything we needed (didn’t need anything as it was all to hand) but was around offering any help!

I booked with my family, taking four large tents including the Pac Man tent. The biggest problem was one of the tents was covered with black mould and mildew and, worse, leaked in several places. This left my sister, with young children and a baby, afraid to use the electric lights and using cups to catch leaks. I wish I could upload pictures here, because I have them. Most of the other tents were fine, even though I remain dubious that any of the electrics are safe given that some of them are just patched up with duct tape. I also noticed (when we had a minor injury) that the first aid kit in the kitchen was half empty, with nothing at all to deal with burns (which you'd expect on a campsite). The BBQ when we arrived also had leftover food in it from several days past, so cleaning is an issue. We complained to the owner, who apologised, promised to look into it and offered to put up a new bell tent for us. Unfortunately the new tent was smaller and had nothing in it - no carpet, no matting, no furniture, making it completely pointless and just as wet, with no ground insulation. The owner was on site the following day and didn't check in on us even as the rain worsened and despite promising to. Eventually, the following day, we got in contact with him. He agreed that this was an issue, got carpets, etc. in place. But by then it was the last day and our group was just being downgraded to a worse tent. No refund. No care given. He did offer to open one of the outbuildings so we could have dinner in there, but it was filthy and he rescinded the offer as soon as we said that wouldn't make up for the whole issue. Terrible experience, would not return. Not suitable for families.

Me and my other half stayed in the JetStar for 5 days , absolutely loved every moment, enjoyed waking up and sitting outside with a cup of coffee enjoying the view and silence, also so many places to explore. Definitely would like to experience the Pacman and the new submarine, only down side is it ended too soon could of easily spent another couple nights there, definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice week getaway from the big city.

The Witch's Hat

we stayed for 3 nights in the witches hat and it was spot on,clean and comfy beds,the kitchen with it has got most things,so most of the time you don't have to use the main one,toilet and sink we're really useful and when the shower is finished it'll be brilliant,site is really chilled and ideally positioned to access all the attractions and Tenby etc,would highly recommend this place

Tenty Bellboa

We all had such a great time!! We had no idea what to expect and nothing disappointed! We struggled to get a little trip away booked for the girls but the dates we wanted suddenly came up so it was a no brainer to book! Very cute campsite which was nice, clean and relaxing! We will definitely be back and will hopefully stay in the UFO.. Or the plane or train... Such a super choice of quirky places to sleep! Thank you for having us. Big shout out to Wolf... Rosebud Yurt

My son and I had such a great time during our stay. The Rosebud Yurt was super comfortable and the entire site was really well thought out (right down to the finest details)! The staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was a fab experience from start to finish. We'll definetly be back again soon!

Owner Toby has sent his life round these parts and is never short of recommendations. Just ask if you want some local advice. For families, Manor House Wildlife Park (01646 651201) offers a chance to explore the globe – head down to the African Village where you can walk with lemurs or trek through the wallaby enclosure in the Australian bush. Back in Britain, the nearby harbour town of Tenby is a cute little spot, with ferries running out to Caldy Island, or try the harbour in Saundersfoot where there is also a sandy, blue flag beach. Freshwater West, meanwhile, was the filing location for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows and Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, while Barafundle Bay was recently voted the best beach in Wales.
