Fantastic Site
Camp Malbec is a perfect campsite! It is level and spacious and lined with trees. There is a hammock, fire pit, and picnic table. The property is beautiful and very private. It is close to wineries, breweries, and Harpers Ferry. We saw deer, wild turkeys, and woodpeckers. We had a fabulous stay and will return! Also, Leigh was very responsive to our questions.

Early Campers...!
So - first of all, apologies to all.... we turned up a week early ! Leigh and the other campers were very gracious to work around our mistake. The property was perfect for our needs - the large gravel parking pad was especially welcome during the heavy rain we experienced. Deer and other creatures were spotted during our stay. Would stay again when in the area ! Carl

Perfect Spot Near Harpers Ferry
My wife and I relished boondocking here for a couple of days with our couples camper. It was a great base from which to take in a day at Harpers Ferry. Provided water (potable well water just inside the gate) kept me from needing to top off at a nearby campground--and we loved the privacy of this place. Greeted by deer and turkey, we settled in quickly. Due to a scheduling mixup, someone was in our reserved spot, but Leigh resolved the issue immediately and we switched happily to the other spot (Reisling). When the couple in the site we'd booked (Malbec) returned from dinner, they joined us at our campfire with beers from Harpers Ferry Brewing as a peace offering (inspiring us to visit there the following evening!) Wonderful to meet them. We enjoyed the portable firepit with wood we'd brought along. The second night, dinner in Lovettsville at 1836 Kitchen and Taproom was a highlight, minutes away. We can't wait for another chance to return to this lovely spot!

2- Camp Reisling
The campsite was beautiful, spacious, private and quiet. We stayed at the Camp Riesling. While it had a tighter loop to turn around, so it’s best for a smaller trailers/ RV, it was more private than the Camp Malbec. We had a Jeep gladiator and a small travel trailer and it was fine. Lots of dry firewood everywhere and a nice, metal fire pit along with the hammock makes the site very comfortable. It’s also very close to lots of great restaurants and a cute coffee shop in town - just a mile away!

Peaceful, quiet, and secluded setting at Camp Malbec with plenty of sun and shade. Greatly appreciated the pull-through access and large site. Host was responsive and accommodating. Directions and instructions were easy to follow. We enjoyed our short one-night stay, and would recommend for a longer stay as well.

Leigh was a great host! The site was exactly what we were looking for. It was quiet, peaceful, and great scenery! Leigh provided good directions on how to get to the site. Also, we had a mishap with our car battery the next day, Leigh was gracious enough to let us hang out at the site until we got it situated. We definitely want to stay here again!

Nice secluded spot to camp just outside of DC. We stayed here on our way our of town to begin a road trip. Large sites with easy turn around for trailers. Just follow the direction, clearly marked.

This was our third time staying here. It just works out perfectly when we are in the area (mostly for canoe trips down the Potomac). Only thing to add from previous reviews is we found a great place to have breakfast nearby. Lovettsville Diner is the place to go.

Tiny House w/ Screened Porch
The tiny house was perfect! It fit six of us adults comfortably and it had everything we needed to make a couple of meals for the weekend. The fire pit was nice to sit around during the evenings and the location of the cabin is so close to many fun outdoor adventures (and not too far from DC). Definitely recommend!

Magical and Charming!
Charming! Well appointed and well organized. I took a wonderful and relaxing nap in a super-comfortable hammock that was provided -- also provided were a fire pit (with kindling & a few logs) and picnic table. I was only there 1 night - but the respite Leigh's land offered was wonderful. I will be back!

Great Stay at Camp Malbec
We took our 25ft Class C out for a short getaway here and loved it. We stayed at Camp Malbec, which was very easy to get to. The grounds were beautiful, with views of the horses and plentiful wildlife. The picnic table, fire pit, and hammock at each camp was a very nice perk. We were also able to fill up water at the entrance. No one else was here during our stay, but there is enough privacy and separation between camps that you could meet your neighbors if you wanted to or keep to yourself without issue. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Leigh!

Perfect for Quick Getaway
Really enjoyed another visit to Leigh's perfect little secluded campsites. We stayed at the Malbec site again which has been expanded from last time we visited. It's super hard to believe this place is only a few minutes from Brunswick and 20 minutes from Frederick. We especially appreciated the fire pits, hammocks and picnic table at each site. We'll definitely be back! If you're looking for a quick get away to a quiet campsite site completely surrounded by nature this is it!

Lovely stay near Lovettsville!
We had a wonderful stay! Beautiful area that is tucked away in the heart of Virginia Wine Country and the sweet little town of Lovettsville! You are only a few minutes from town but feel like you are in the middle of the wilderness at this campsite. If you want a delicious cup of coffee and food I would highly recommend checking out Beans in the Belfry which is about 2 miles away. Leigh and her husband are great hosts - we asked to switch sites (from Riesling to Malbec) and they went above and beyond to accommodate. We definitely plan on coming back and would recommend to other campers!

Quiet, Close to Harpers Ferry
We loved our stay at Quarter Branch Retreat! Great location close to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (< 20 min drive away). Easy to find and access off the main road. Originally booked Camp Riesling -- Host was very responsive and accommodating when we asked to switch to Camp Malbec, which was a drier and offered more level area. Enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and watching the passing deer. Will definitely stay again next time we visit!

Great camping spot
We had a lovely, quiet stay on Leigh's property. The set up is really nice - easy to access but far enough from the road. Leigh was super responsive to a couple of questions we had in advance and on the day we arrived. There's great hiking nearby and the town of Brunswick, MD (just across the Potomac) is adorable.

Tiny House w/ Screened Porch
Love, love, love this tiny house! It didn't feel tiny at all. Comfy mattresses, super nice kitchen, and great screened porch! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use the fire pit due to weather but it looked like an amazing place to hang out for the evening. Also, super hosts! Leigh answered all our questions, gave us a tip to pack slippers, and made sure we had a shovel & salt for the steps. Really loved this stay! Hope to stay again and spend an evening by the fire!

Perfect Van or RV stop-over!
Lovely spot, exactly as described. If both pullouts were occupied, it would be a little less private, but it is very still and secluded in a pine forest right next to a lovely field with a pen of horses. Horses are close enough to be an easy stroll, but not close enough that you can smell or hear them. Easy in and out, nice thick gravel surface. Parking spots are not perfectly level, so if that is a priority, you’d need leveling blocks or a couple pieces of firewood. Now has fresh water hookup and a black tank dumping spot, so serious RVers would be extremely happy here.

This was our second time staying at Camp Malbec. It's a nice simple spot in the woods that apparently we liked enough to come back. Great place to just relax by a firepit.

Quiet, rural setting-town close by!
Love this spot! Our second time here. A little less private with the new sites added (if they’re even occupied during your visit), but still way more privacy than you’d ever get at a campground. Very close proximity to bad-weather activities like wineries/breweries, and the cute town of Brunswick. Very easy to get in and out of with our pull-behind camper. Oh, and you can see the happy horses in the field right next door!

Easy and comfortable stay!
Easy entrance and secluded spot not far from harpers ferry WV. Nice gravel spots but the gravel needs to settle as these seem like new spots. Great fire pits and furniture available on each site. Nice and wooded spot and saw plenty of deer and wildlife. Would stay here again for sure.
