The 80-acre semi-rural property is a nature lover's paradise, boasting vast bushland teeming with native vegetation and wildlife. The property offers a tranquil retreat with the highlight being a spectacular spring-fed dam, providing a serene oasis for relaxation and recreation. The diverse ecosystem supports a variety of flora and fauna, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The property is located close to a myriad of wineries and is not far from the Yarra Valley towns of Gembrook, Yarra Junction and Warburton. Each with their own unique qualities. When travelling to the Tranquil Waters Campground it can be a little tricky. Please pay attention to the photos and map provided for directions - the address is 600 Thonemans Road, Hoddles Creek. The area is known for its beautiful walking tracks located in the Kurth Kiln national park which is only a few Km's drive. If fruit picking is something you would like to try, then Rayner Orchard located at 60 Schoolhouse Road, Woori Yallock would be a great place to visit. Its hard to go past the Gladysdale Bakehouse or Carrige Cafe in Seville for brunch/lunch if that's your thing. Alternatively you can simply relax and enjoy the peace an quite! For the fishing enthusiasts, we added 100 Golden Perch to the spring-fed dam in November 2022 - they should be about big enough to catch and have some fun with. Note: Don't camp near or directly under trees, please camp within the open areas for safety reasons.Guests will have a site area to themselves, but please note there may also be other campers on the property at the same time so this will need to be considered. Not all of the property is suitable to camping and we would strongly recommend you do not set-up camp under any trees. There is a single drop toilet on the property for all campers to use but please bring your own toilet paper and ensure it is cleaned after your stay.

Tranquil Waters Campground
Beautiful camping spot - gorgeous great gum trees, so green (even at the height of summer), spring-fed dam surrounded by gums and ferns (and water temperature was lovely). My pup had a great time sniffing around and meeting some of the other dogs camping there. I appreciated the fire pit the first night - I ordered firewood from Jon, and he left a good stack of logs plus twigs and bark for kindling. There were an Australian summer amount of flies - in future, I'd be better prepared for the dog and bring her some fly repellent as well as a portable play pen with fly screen. We had a lovely walk in Kurth Kiln and trip to Gembrook one day, and then lounged around at camp and the dam another.

Tranquility plus...
Huge area allows campers to be well spread out. Certainly "tranquil" with kookaburra sing songs at both ends of the day. I like the remoteness, close to nature. Only a bit difficult to find a spot flat enough for easy sleeping - treasure hunt thrown in. Jon, the host was very helpful with his instructions. I had no mobile coverage (Vodafone), others at higher parts of the campground did.

Not bad
The dam is beautiful and cool to swim. Surrounding forest is divine and nice and cooling. The sites to camp in are very sloped, only a couple are flat. Firepits are limited. If I’d had a flat site it would have been great but I didn’t and it was annoying. Not private but if the other campers are ok not bad

Tranquil Waters Campground
Jon was lovely and talked me through directions to the water. He even made a quick trip to check I’d found it. I didn’t stay at the main campground, I camped down near the dam. It really is tranquil. Met some great people as they came by the water also. Had a wonderful time and would highly recommend a visit.

Tranquil Waters Campground
Lovely spot, amongst tall trees with a nice walk to the waterhole. Plenty of room to share amongst the 6 max campsites. If you had 3 or less, you'd hardly see the others. Nice walk to the waterhole. The single dop toilet was clean and didn't smell at all.
