Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places. And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant & rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. Site 1 (River side )

Tent camping.

We stayed at site 1, which is a big open flat area (minimal shade) fully fenced and gated right by the river, great for kids and dogs supervised. Firepit with adjustable grill plate fantastic! There is also a bbq if needed. Drinking water very close by and flushing toilet maybe 5 min walk . Everything is clearly sign posted which is really helpful. The only negative is the previous campers didn’t clean up after their dogs!!

Nature, bird life, river.

Such a good spot, not far from Melbourne. Nice flowing river running along spread out camp sites. Perfect for a getaway, with added bathroom facility. Michael was very hospitable and friendly.

Wonderfully quiet and private. The kids and the dog loved the creek right by the camp site allowing for such a good break. Michael checked us on us once and let us to enjoy the peace and calm. Will come back with more friends.

Fantastic getaway

We just got back from a great few days at Michael’s place! We were in site 1 and loved every minute of it. We loved the campfire and excellent facilities that were there. Be sure to take a dip in the river, it is stunning! We will definitely be back again.
