Warm fires, starry skies, seclusion! Great for caravans, camper trailers, tents and more! Nestled in the valley of a 1000 hills and on the land of the Taungurung people, this little patch of hilly heaven is home to a small family of farm animals, dog and their two owners. With its rugged natural beauty, amazing sunsets and starry skies, it was hard not to want to share its beauty with others. The property is the gateway to Murrindindi, has power and water for campers, a dam if you enjoy yabbying and perfect for intimate, small groups. We offer a flat campsite and ridge top campsite. Low gear and 4wd preferable during very wet months. NOTE: Campfires subject to fire restrictions at over summer, please message. Our secluded, flat campsite is surrounded by unspoilt bushland and is home to a multitude of native Australian animals. Our ridge-top campsite also features beautiful bush, and some amazing views. With over 50 acres of rugged hilly bushland, no neighbours in sight and tracks to explore, this is the perfect place for those who enjoy a challenging bush walk, privacy and a sky to watch the stars. Campers are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome but must be contained and campers must respect any restrictions in place at the time of their stay. Pets are welcome.

Starry skies, space, seclusion and more!  Feel like you're surrounded by untouched bushland but with the convenience of water and power on hand. This campsite is perfect for couples, well behaved furry friends and small intimate groups looking for a peaceful retreat an hour out of Melbourne. This campsite is great for camper trailers, caravans, tents and more, just check out the multitude of photos our happy campers have posted.  With over 50 acres of rugged hilly bushland to explore, no neighbours in sight and tracks to wander. We have sheep and alpaca who enjoy a good feed and a dam which in warmer months is good for yabbying in.  If you're planning on staying a while, we are a 15 minute drive from Yea for groceries and a feed at the local pub is just 5 minutes away!  Campers are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome but must be contained and campers must respect any restrictions in place at the time of their stay.

If you're after a serenity, space and seclusion check out Stumpy Tail Ridge.  This site is the larger of the two a Bushy Ridge Hideaway and is great if you have a dog that loves to play fetch!  Heaps of space to run around, explore the gullies and plenty of fallen branches to throw into a fire on a cold winter's day.  This site is shared with ex-school bus Coach Murri (also available to rent - message us for more details) who is perched to on side of the ridge overlooking a treed gully.   The site is flat and surrounded by unspoilt bushland and home to a multitude of native Australian animals.  The property also has a few fleecy friends who are always happy for a feed and are a crowd pleaser with the younger campers as well as a dam for yabbying in the warmer months.  Campers are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.  Campfires are welcome but must be contained and campers must respect any restrictions in place at the time of their stay. NOTE: Campfires subject to fire restrictions at over summer, but no issues in winter.  With over 50 acres of rugged hilly bushland, no neighbours in sight and tracks to explore, this is the perfect place for those who enjoy a challenging bush walk, privacy and a sky to watch the stars!  This campsite will be sure to please couples with/without furry friends, families or small intimate groups looking for a peaceful getaway an hour from Melbourne!

Coach Murri is perched on Stumpy Tail Ridge, 270 degree unspoilt views of bush, the coach provides perfect privacy for a romantic glamping getaway for two or up to a family of four without the need to set up a tent! Fully equipped with everything you need including bathroom and kitchen, heating and cooling, come and enjoy buslife in an utterly beautiful setting. Coach Murri also gives you exclusive use of the outdoor campfire area on the ridge where you can sit and gaze at the stars and ponder life or enjoy a meal outdoors under cover area as the sun sets and the fairylights twinkle away. If you've always wanted to try living in a bus surrounded by the birds and nature what better way than to give this cosy coach a go! Good Telstra and Optus reception on the site. Terrific place to camp for a few days - having access to power and water was an absolute game changer and there is plenty of room for those who might to want to set up further down the ridge without utilities. The dogs loved the open space and there was plenty of firewood around (and gathered for us on this occasion). Close to Yea and Flowerdale - just perfect for a short break! The other campsite is not far away from the powered site on Bushy Ridge but was far enough away that both sites feel secluded. We saw kangaroos and some deer amble through the site one morning and the birdlife was as to be expected! This site is well worth considering!

Stayed at Bushy Ridge for a quick weekend away with the kids and it was perfect. Power and water close at hand, great little bush walks for the kids as well as feeding the farm animals. Great hosts, highly recommend.

We had a great time camping at Bushy Ridge, it was easy to access and having running water was great. There was already a fire pit on site which saved us from packing one more thing. We are seasoned campers but it was a great way to comfortably introduce the little kiddos. Will definitely stay again.

We had a great time at Melissa’s property, the site was very large & with the added benefit of electricity and water, this was a huge luxury! The spot is very private and had plenty of space and options to set up camp. The site & property was also immaculately clean. The scenery around the amazing with plenty of wildlife about, saw plenty of kangaroos, kookaburras, birds and some foxes. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Bushy Ridge!

Great camp site with power and water. Melissa was very prompt with communication in the lead up to the booking, and the site was a gorgeous ridge that felt nice and secluded for a family catchup with a good amount of space for our 3 year old niece to explore!

I had a really beautiful stay here with our pup Freddie. It is great for dogs and the host communication was so helpful. The site also felt very private and there was a beautiful view of the sunset. The power and water were also very handy. The only thing Id mention as in early reviews is that there is some highway background noise due to the location but that didnt bother us :) Thanks again for having us

Melissa has set up a simply beautiful area called Bushy Ridge surrounded by Gumtrees and more space than anyone could possibly need. Having power and water on this site makes camping very easy. Hearing the birds in the morning and the sound of the wind through the trees is a nice way to wake up. We found the site perfect for tenting and should be noted ground rocky in parts so suitable tent pegs a must. We used Apple Maps and found the site without any issues using link supplied. The communication from Melissa is at an elite level and everything you need is supplied. We also stumbled on an amazing coffee shop 6km from the site towards Flowerdale. If you are after a morning coffee and pastry it is a must visit. See photos. We loved our time at Bushy Ridge and could have stayed much longer than 4 days. Our German Shepherd was in his element with the amount of space. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway that feels as though you are in the hills with the convenience of power and water this is it

Melissa’s camp spot is gorgeous! So close to the city, easy to access but really peaceful amongst the trees. The camp spot is really well cleared so heaps of room for cars, tents and picnic rugs. Water and power handy if required. Lovely view of the sunset through the trees. If we’d have stayed longer we would have loved to go for a walk on the property - next time!

We really enjoyed being able to camp on Melissa’s property. Lovely location and we were not disappointed. There was connection for power and water was also available. The area was clean and even saw an echidna and deer and kangaroo during the stay. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Amazing stay just a short drive from Melbourne. We took our dog and he loved it. For a small cost Melissa provided us with fire wood and even some Proteas! Perfect spot to switch off and enjoy the surrounds. We will be back!

I chose Bushy Ridge as my first HipCamp location as a solo camper and the site did not disappoint! The site was super clean, nice and flat for swag camping and was such a pretty outlook. Heaps of space for my pup to run around and being allowed to have her off leash was much appreciated by both of us! Would definitely stay again 😊

A nice quiet location with water and power, the site itself was also very tidy. Melissa's instructions to the camp site itself was very clear, however our gps decided to take us to her neighbours house (even though we entered the right address), so watch out for the house number sign when approaching from the main road.

We loved camping at Bushy Ridge. The beautiful bushland either side of the grassy ridge is so vast and makes the space feel really private. The starry night sky was picturesque. The directions provided by Melissa were very helpful as Google Maps would have had us going elsewhere. The fact that we could have our dogs with us was so important and very much appreciated. They loved running around and finding sticks. We were also lucky in the morning to have been visited by some kangaroos. We quietly watched them from the mesh doorway of our tent as they grazed nearby. A wonderful relaxing experience at Bushy Ridge, highly recommend, thanks again.

Beautiful and tranquil place to camp. My kids and I had a great time around the fire and we particularly enjoyed feeding the Alpacas and goats. Definitely do it again some time in the future.

We loved the camping here. Beautiful landscape. The girls loved the yabing and the walks. The dogs had great fun too. The place was well kept and with plenty of space. The directions were clear and the hosts were very helpful. Will definitely go back!!

Coach Murri
We had a great time staying in Coach Murri over a very cold, wet and rainy Easter long weekend. Melissa had sent very clear directions that were easy to follow and had the heater going so the bus was lovely and toasty for our arrival. The main thing that I loved about it was the lack of crowds usually associated with Easter getaways - we walked around and found the other campsite and even if people had been there I don’t think we would have heard or seen them. The bus was exactly as pictured and all the essentials were provided - it gave us a taste of tiny house living. The shower water was lovely and hot, bedding warm and comfortable (although we didn’t utilise the bunks) and in the cupboards we found board games to entertain us when the rain didn’t permit explorations. We headed to the Flowerdale Hotel for dinner one night, and Sedona Estate winery as recommended by Melissa. Had an EXCEPTIONAL experience at the winery and will definitely be buying their wines again. Telstra mobile reception is very limited (which can be a plus) and we got to enjoy the fire pit in the evenings when the weather cleared. Thanks for a lovely experience.
