Rustic and Comfortable Cabins. No power lines cross our property. We have no blaring screens to distract us from the sound of the wind in the leaves or to call us back to the whirl of modern life. But that does not mean we are without any comforts. Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running spring water, indoor bathroom, and overhead LP gas lamps. Nestled in the forest at meadow's edge, Cold Spring Cabin has an outdoor shower and indoor tub. Perched on a hill near the Farm Pond, Ripley Hill Cabin has an indoor shower and tub. The cabins are rustic, but clean and airy. The luxuries at Forest Echo Farm are not inside the cabins; they are found in the light that fills the forest in late afternoon, the silence of an evening canoe and the moonlit sparkle of dewdrops at midnight. Forest Echo Farm includes 360 acres, extensive shore to a 26-acre protected pond, numerous trails, and half a mountain. The Farm Pond offers a refreshing ‘dip’ to cool off. A hike from each cabin leads to Tiny Pond, an unspoiled lake where canoe, kayak and raft are available for shared use. Hiking trails are on the property. In addition to local trails, the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail are nearby. The surrounding area is chock full of restaurants, antique stores, country stores, bakeries, farm stands, farmers markets, general shopping, historic sites, hiking, swimming holes and scenic drives. Preserving and Sharing the Land. Forest Echo Farm is owned by a cooperative group of families and individuals who are committed to the values of simple living and the preservation of our environment. Forest Echo cabins offer a relaxing retreat where you can unplug and reconnect. The Forest Echo Farm community is dedicated to preserving our land, maintaining a balance between our human presence and the natural character of the forest, lakes, and mountains. Through the Vermont Land Trust, we have set aside 80% of our land to ensure that it will never be developed.

Cold Spring has one double bed on the screened-in sleeping porch, a queen bed in a separate bedroom and one twin bed (with bolsters it serves as a day bed) in the main room. Sleeps 4. Forest Echo Farm, in Mt. Holly, Vermont, offers an escape to the wilderness within a comfortable, rustic setting. Forest Echo Farm was a working farm in the 1800s. Today, our cabins provide you with a vacation spot amidst 360 acres of Vermont forest and meadows. Cold Spring is our most intimate cabin. There is a beautiful view of Mt. Ascutney from both the sleeping porch and the bathtub. The main room offers a cozy wood stove. In the kitchen there is a sink and solar-powered refrigerator and gas stove. The indoor bathroom, accessed through the bedroom, features a large, old fashioned tub, a sink and a toilet. There is also an outdoor shower and an outhouse. Hot and cold running water is available both inside and outside the cabin. Cold Spring is a favorite for honeymooners, couples, and small families. Cold Spring Cabin is a short walk from Ripley Hill Cabin, but out of sight. Sometimes two families or a large group book these cabins together. Cold Spring is a short walk from the Farm Pond. It is about a 20 - 40 minute walk from our lake. Check in with the Caretakers upon arrival and departure. - There is no WIFI or electricity to charge your devices at any of the cabins. If you have a medical need to power a device while you are at Forest Echo, please get in touch. - Bring your own bed linens, pillows, blankets, and towels. - Bring your own food. - Bring your own supplemental cleaning supplies. - We can send you a full list of what is supplied at each cabin, just ask. - No housekeeping, please leave a clean cabin for the next guests. Forest, Meadow, Lake and Pond The luxuries at Forest Echo Farm are not inside the cabins; they are found in the light that fills the forest in late afternoon, the silence of an evening canoe on Tiny Pond and the moonlit sparkle of dewdrops at midnight. Forest Echo Farm includes 360 acres, extensive shore to a 26 acre protected pond, a swimming hole, numerous trails, and half a mountain. Canoes and kayaks provided at Tiny Pond, no outside boats allowed. Cleaning Up We do not offer a 'housekeeping' service, but instead ask you to clean up before your departure and leave the cabin ready for the next renters. Please clean the kitchen, sweep the floor and take your trash, compost, and recyclables to our Caretakers for disposal. They are on-site to greet you upon arrival, answer your questions and see to any maintenance. They can also make recommendations for activities in the surrounding area. Activities at Forest Echo Farm During your stay at Forest Echo, enjoy walking and hiking, bird- watching, canoeing, swimming, or just relaxing. There are several hiking and walking trails right on the property. Tiny Pond offers a secluded spot for swimming and canoeing; we even have a resident heron. Tiny Mountain and Tiny Pond are walkable from the cabins. Activities Nearby Shopping and Dining - The nearest town, Ludlow, and the surrounding area is chock full of restaurants, antique stores, country stores, bakeries, farm stands, farmers markets, general shopping, and scenic drives. The Crowley Cheese shop and factory are nearby and worth a visit. Hiking and Biking - The Appalachian and Long Trails are within a 45-minutedrive from Forest Echo. There are many local bike/ski shops in Ludlow with bike rentals and other activities. Our Farm trails are not for cross-country bicycling, but there are miles and miles of back roads to enjoy from the end of Tinney Road. Cell Phone Reception/WiFi Many people can get cell phone reception on Forest Echo property. There is no WiFi on Forest Echo property. If you don't plan to fully unplug, bring a battery for recharging devices.

Cold Springs Cabin

Cold Spring Cabin

Cabin was private, cozy, and had everything we needed! Scott & Rose made everything super easy and welcoming. A hot bath in the morning followed by canoeing on Tiny Pond, a drive out to Woodstock, and stargazing in the meadow at night was an unbeatable experience. We had a lovely camping trip! Couldn’t recommend more.
